Oh my darlings, today was simply divine! A delightful trip to Fulham, where the sun shone gloriously and the green hues of my tutu seemed to sparkle with extra joie de vivre! It was like a whimsical waltz through a leafy park, except with slightly more pavement. But who cares, eh? A ballet girl's got to adapt!

This afternoon was all about a fabulously exciting rehearsal at the charming Royal Ballet School, just a hop, skip, and a pirouette from the River Thames. I could practically feel the excitement bouncing off the cobblestones, my ballet heart thrumming with anticipation.

But let's rewind a bit, shall we? My morning was spent on a grand journey aboard the trusty "Southern" train. Nothing beats a good old-fashioned train trip, especially with a scenic route. I even had a chance to do a little ballet exercise on the carriage (shhhh, don't tell anyone). A cheeky fouette here, a grand jeté there – I was channeling my inner ballerinas, all while enjoying the rolling countryside scenery. And of course, my trusty pink handbag, stuffed with ballet necessities and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, accompanied me every step of the way.

On arriving in the glorious city of London, I felt the thrill of a dancer venturing into a new performance space. The air buzzed with energy – that incredible "about to put on a show" vibe! Even the pigeons seemed to have a touch of je ne sais quoi, maybe even a tiny, little pirouette in their step.

Reaching Fulham was a delight, its charm a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of London's main avenues. And then, the moment arrived – I was welcomed into the Royal Ballet School, a hallowed place for any ballet enthusiast! There was the intoxicating aroma of warm wood polish and the quiet hum of the students preparing for the day's lessons. It truly was a feast for the senses.

As I donned my beautiful green tutu, I knew it was going to be a day full of pirouettes and plies! This shade of green, a shimmering jade with hints of silver thread, seemed to embody the spirit of Fulham itself - a blend of graceful elegance and quirky charm.

And then it began – the rehearsal! The room bustled with energy and I was captivated by the sheer talent that filled every corner. A little bit of ballet magic in the air, you see! The grace of their leaps, the precise execution of every step, the intensity in their eyes – it was utterly inspiring! It felt like a glimpse into the heart of ballet, a privilege for a simple Derbyshire girl like myself!

But enough about the technicalities! Let me tell you, darling, the highlight of my day came from an unlikely source.

Picture this – a large park across from the school, adorned with statues of forgotten heroes. The air was alive with the happy chaos of children's laughter and the scent of crisp spring air. And in the midst of it all – a majestic flock of swans. Majestic creatures, those swans. They drifted upon the water with a quiet grace, so utterly beautiful and utterly… well, balletic! I swear, there were a few little "demi-pliés" in their steps, just for us!

In a burst of sudden inspiration, I flung my pink bag to the ground (I know, a little risky!), snatched my tutu, and, well… I danced. Not in the technical sense of course! It was a whimsical twirl, a spontaneous burst of joy that swept me away like a wind through a field of wildflowers. I twirled and twirled, a happy pink dot against the backdrop of the serene swan family and a symphony of children's giggling. It felt, as if, the swans were applauding!

It wasn't the grandeur of the Royal Opera House, no. But it was so… utterly delightful! It felt so utterly… me. It's the little moments that make life beautiful, my dears! These are the moments I hold dear - a random act of twirling under a sunny sky, with a flock of graceful swans and a heart full of glee.

It reminded me of something a wise woman once told me (and who doesn't love a good bit of wisdom from a wise woman, eh?), "Emma, dear, never let go of your love for dancing. It’s what sets your heart alight, it’s what makes you uniquely YOU. Let your joy inspire others!" And it will. It does.

My darling friends, I'm just getting started! Stay tuned for more pink-tutu filled adventures, and don’t be afraid to grab a tutu of your own – you might just surprise yourself with the sheer joy of it! As I always say – the more tutus, the merrier!

And now, my darling, with a heart full of happiness, I bid you a fond farewell, until we dance again!

Love,

Emma x
