Good morning darlings! Today’s TutuBlog post comes to you from the rather lovely town of Grays, Essex! I know, a bit of a shock right? But trust me, this trip has been everything a tutu-wearing, ballet-loving girl could ask for.

As I sit here, sipping my latte and nibbling on a delicious raspberry cupcake, I’m surrounded by the scent of spring and the sound of children laughing. This sweet little town really has it all! Just the other day I found a gorgeous independent tea shop tucked away on a side street. I couldn't resist the allure of the fluffy pastel pink cupcakes with delicate little flowers on top. It was truly a feast for the senses!

Now, you may be thinking, “Emma, why Grays? What's the story?” Well, it’s all about my journey to the Royal Opera House in the Big Smoke, London town. As always, I had to make this journey by train, of course! I absolutely adore the romance and adventure of a train journey. Plus, it's a great excuse to wear a stylish hat, don't you think? For this trip, I opted for a beautiful velvet fedora in the most delicious shade of crimson, to complement my fabulous red tutu (more on that later!).

But before we get to the theatre, let’s rewind the clock just a tad! The trip started in my lovely home county, Derbyshire. The Derbyshire Dales are simply stunning at this time of year, with swathes of bluebells carpeting the forest floors and lambs frolicking in the meadows. I found myself wandering through the Peak District National Park, taking in the fresh air and the breathtaking scenery.

My trip to Grays came with an added bonus - a visit to the Grays Thurrock Nature Discovery Park! It was an absolute delight! As a big fan of all things wild, I was thrilled to see a variety of amazing birds including herons and a cheeky little squirrel. You’d think I'd be too preoccupied with the nature to think about tutus, but alas, there I was, twirling amidst the butterflies with my tutu swishing behind me! It was an Instagram dream, with the beautiful natural backdrop and my fabulous red tutu.

Of course, the highlight of my journey was the performance at the Royal Opera House. This time it was a masterpiece, a beautiful blend of classic ballet and contemporary storytelling that had me utterly captivated! I just loved the energy of the performers and the way the story unfolded right in front of my eyes. It was magical, and I know it left a permanent imprint on my soul! And the costume changes?! Absolutely breath-taking. I could not tear my eyes away from the intricate detailing and the vibrant colours. It was truly a masterpiece, and it sparked so many ideas for my own dance practice!

I know some of you might be wondering, “Emma, why wear a red tutu?” I have to say, this one just felt right. It’s a departure from my usual pastel pink, and a touch bold, just like me! It really resonated with the fiery energy of the ballet performance. And I loved the way it popped against the neutral backdrop of the countryside.

Now, back to my mission of getting everyone to wear a pink tutu! Here at Pink-Tutu, it's not just about the clothes, it's about the joy! So grab a pink tutu, a little pink ribbon, a bit of courage, and join me on this amazing journey. Try a ballet class! Dance like no one is watching. Take a moment to enjoy the little things. I promise, it'll change your life!

I’m so excited to continue my journey, discovering new places, new stories, and inspiring new pink-tutu clad adventurers along the way! Be sure to check back here for my daily dose of tutu-tastic goodness. And don't forget to let me know in the comments what you're wearing!

See you soon, Emma xo

P.S. Stay tuned for next week’s adventures, as I embark on a horse-riding holiday in the heart of the Cotswolds! And of course, my pink tutu will be making an appearance. What can I say? It's the perfect travelling companion!
