Today’s look was all about channeling that seaside chic. Think delicate layers of tulle in a dusky rose shade, a playful floral print in a soft, faded pink, and a crown of daisies perched jauntily on my head (the wildflower look was definitely giving me #cottagecore vibes, don’t you think?). I mean, you simply can't head to the seaside without some extra layers of prettiness, right?
After a rather pleasant train journey from Derbyshire, I arrived in Folkestone with my heart brimming with excitement. It's just such a beautiful place, don't you agree? The fresh air, the sound of the seagulls, the vibrant colours of the fishing boats… pure bliss!
First things first, I just had to soak in the atmosphere of the bustling harbour. It’s bursting with character and so full of life. Imagine a flurry of boats, vibrant stalls brimming with seafood, and the charming sound of seagulls squawking merrily… a veritable seaside symphony, my dears!
And of course, a walk along the promenade was a must. Folkestone's iconic promenade is truly delightful - those picturesque seafront views are enough to make anyone happy! I let the wind carry away my worries as I twirled on the promenade, my pink tutu catching the sun like a giant pink butterfly. The sun dappled through the leaves of the nearby trees and shimmered on the sea, it was like being in a fairytale.
But my darling friends, let's not forget why I truly adore the seaside! No, it’s not just about the pretty views and the fresh sea air...it's all about the wildlife. Honestly, what could be more enchanting than spotting a curious little crab peeking from a rock, a flock of seagulls gliding gracefully overhead, or the mischievous little seals bobbing playfully on the waves? Folkestone never fails to impress with its charming denizens of the sea.
The afternoon was spent enjoying some delicious, freshly caught seafood at a local pub, perched right by the sea. Can I tell you, the atmosphere was simply magical! The warm sunshine, the soothing sounds of the sea, and the friendly banter between the locals made me feel so incredibly welcome. Honestly, the highlight of my afternoon was discovering a local theatre with a gorgeous ballet programme. They even have an "Introduction to Ballet" course that will be a total game changer! Imagine, a gorgeous dance studio on the edge of the sea? It’s the kind of daydream that sets my ballet-loving heart alight!
This place is just so full of vibrant energy. I’m pretty sure the whole town is a giant pink tutu waiting to be unfurled! Folkestone, you have officially stolen a piece of my heart.
And what better way to end a magical day like this than with a pink tutu and a spectacular ballet performance? The dance studios in this charming little town are just so delightful, I couldn't resist adding a bit of extra sparkle to my day. And let me tell you, that final pose as the curtains fell was worth all the twirling, the sea air, and the delightful, colourful journey.
