Eltham Adventures: A Tutu-tastic Day Out! 🩰🌸

Hello my lovelies! Emma here, bringing you post number 9431 from the wonderfully whimsical world of pink tutus and pirouettes! Today I'm taking you on a journey to the charming town of Eltham, nestled in the heart of South-East London. Now, I'm not one to judge, but I think it's criminal that I hadn't been to Eltham before! It truly stole my heart, and I know it's going to be a place I visit often.

Before I tell you about the fabulous time I had exploring, let's talk about my outfit! Because, let's face it, what's a day out without a spectacular ensemble? 😉 I went for a classic, yet vibrant look. A baby pink tutu, fluffy as a cloud and swishing with every graceful step I took, topped with a crisp white blouse with pearl buttons for a touch of vintage elegance. A floral headband kept my curls from getting in the way of my dramatic pirouettes. Because yes, darling, even in Eltham, a ballerina must pirouette. And the best part? My sparkly pink ballet flats!

Now, back to Eltham. I had the pleasure of travelling there via train. It’s no secret that I’m a massive fan of train travel. It feels so glamorous, allows for a good book, and the occasional delicious afternoon tea. I'm a big fan of getting lost in a good book while watching the countryside whizz by. Something about that endless stretch of green fields just sparks the imagination! And, let’s face it, my tutu always turns heads!

I’ll admit, a part of me was hoping to spot some deer during the journey. After all, Eltham is famous for its royal park, home to all sorts of woodland creatures! I’m a sucker for all things furry and feathered – a little wildlife viewing always adds to a magical day. Alas, no deer sightings this time, but I’m determined to see them on my next visit.

Once I arrived at Eltham, the first thing I did was wander around the Eltham Palace and Gardens. Let me tell you, this place was absolutely breathtaking! It has this gorgeous medieval palace with secret passageways, courtyards fit for royalty, and the most picturesque gardens I've ever seen. And you just can't beat that view across the park, can you?

The Eltham Palace is bursting with history. Just imagine, those very walls have seen some amazing events! King Henry VIII used to spend his weekends there. Can you imagine sharing a meal with a Tudor King?! I, for one, would be sure to practice my curtsy!

Now, this isn't your typical royal palace, darling. It’s a little more modern, actually! Imagine an Art Deco style palace, complete with stylish interiors and modern furnishings – just imagine all those amazing Instagram-worthy moments! I managed to capture some lovely shots by the majestic fountain with my majestic pink tutu. The colours blended in beautifully – perfect for my ‘Pink Tutu Travels’ Instagram!

Of course, a day in Eltham wouldn’t be complete without some pampering, right? Luckily, the palace itself has a wonderful cafe offering delicious homemade treats and delicious scones – definitely a winner for a ballet dancer on the go! And, if you happen to be passing, do try the pink lemonade – perfect for this whimsical Pink Tutu adventurer.

Later that afternoon, I took a leisurely stroll through Eltham’s charming high street. It's filled with those cute little boutiques and independent shops that always manage to find my wallet – but what can I say? They always have something perfect! And then there’s the gorgeous vintage tea shop with floral-print wallpaper. You'll find me sipping a pot of tea with dainty scones with clotted cream. I even managed to score a new vintage silk scarf - perfect for a ballet class and for channeling that vintage vibe!

You wouldn’t believe it, but I actually met a woman wearing a pink tutu while I was wandering the high street! She told me she was an enthusiastic amateur ballerina. I told her I’d found my kindred spirit and encouraged her to start a blog about her ballet adventures. I’m always excited to see more pink tutus in the world! I think we had a brilliant conversation!

After a busy day exploring Eltham, my darling, I took a lovely long walk through the park, a haven of calm. There's something very special about taking a break from the city buzz and being in touch with nature. And it goes without saying that it’s absolutely perfect for putting your tutu in its rightful place, twirling under the blue sky and feeling the sun on your face.

Now, let me ask you this: have you ever thought about trying ballet? You don’t have to be a professional ballerina, darling. You just need a passion for the art form. As for me, my tutu-loving spirit keeps reminding me to live life like a ballet – with grace, artistry, and a touch of whimsy. Remember, a ballerina, like a swan, takes flight with a graceful sweep of her tutu, spreading her wings and soaring through the air.

If you’re looking for an adventure filled with beauty and magic, Eltham is definitely the place to visit. So grab your pink tutu and join me in making the world a little brighter, a little more playful, a little more pirouette-filled!

Until next time, my dear! 🩰🌸

Much love,

Emma 💕
