Hello my gorgeous lovelies! It’s your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, Emma, here! 👋 Today I’m sharing blog post number 9453, fresh from my trip to the delightful town of Sutton. This time, I'm sporting a new emerald green tutu (yes, green! A change is as good as a holiday, right? 😉) Ready for some dancingly fun times? Let’s get going!
Train Tracks & Teacups: 🚄☕
Starting off with the journey itself, my Derbyshire roots meant a glorious train ride to Sutton! Oh, how I adore those scenic vistas, whizzing by as the carriages sway gently. It's the perfect setting for me to catch up on some reading or indulge in a spot of tea with my favourite travel companion, my adorable lavender-coloured tote bag, full of ballet essentials. Speaking of essentials, did I mention that a tutu, however vibrantly coloured, simply doesn’t look complete without a matching pink bow?! 💖🎀
Sutton’s Sparkling Gems: ✨
Reaching Sutton was like stepping into a picturesque postcard. The cobblestone streets, with their quaint shops and charming cafes, were positively enchanting! There was an irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air - a total temptation for a tutu-wearing gourmand like myself! 😋
First on my itinerary? A visit to the grand Sutton Manor, an imposing Victorian masterpiece. The elegant gardens, full of fragrant blooms and buzzing bees, made the perfect spot for a quick photoshoot with my emerald tutu! It’s not every day you get a ballerina twirling amidst such captivating surroundings. I may have attracted a few curious gazes but let’s face it, a green tutu with a pink bow, is never going to blend into the background! 😂
Horse-Powered Charm: 🐴
Next up, it was time for some equine escapades. Yes, you read that right, a horse-drawn carriage ride through Sutton’s lovely streets! I was feeling very much like a princess, swept away in a fairytale. It was absolutely magical to be gently gliding through the town with the soft clip-clop of horses’ hooves and the wind gently tousling my hair. Of course, the pink bow had to be strategically positioned for optimum carriage-riding chic!
Ballet Brilliance in Sutton: 💃
No trip to any town is truly complete without a touch of ballet, right? So naturally, I tracked down Sutton's charming local ballet studio. It was a beautiful little place, bursting with warmth and enthusiasm, just like my pink tutu collection! 😉 I felt instantly welcomed by the instructor, a radiant woman who was positively glowing with love for her craft. It was wonderful to see these budding dancers, twirling and leaping with joyous energy. Their talent truly ignited a fire within my soul! 💖
I even managed to snag a spot in one of their classes! It was an absolutely delightful experience. Feeling my muscles work, listening to the soft strains of the piano as we practised our pirouettes and arabesques, I was truly in my element! To say that my emerald tutu got a little extra attention is an understatement! Everyone kept complimenting my colour choices - such an absolute delight! It was a fantastic way to mingle with fellow dance lovers and share some laughs over the sheer joy of movement!
A Glimpse of Wildlife: 🕊️
As the day wore on, I was feeling inspired by the serenity of Sutton. I was craving a touch of nature. What better place to find that than Sutton’s serene Botanical Gardens? It was an oasis of vibrant hues, enchanting scents and curious creatures. I took a slow stroll through the winding pathways, spotting squirrels chattering playfully in the branches, ducks gracefully dipping in the pond, and vibrant butterflies dancing in the air.
And yes, even the local birds, with their cheery tweets and chirps, seemed to be impressed with my emerald tutu. 😉 I was certainly getting quite a few admiring glances! Let’s face it, this colour looks spectacular against such vibrant greens.
My Favourite Spot in Sutton: ☕️🌸
For a final, relaxing touch to my Sutton adventure, I headed to a lovely little tea shop. The walls were painted a lovely pastel pink, (did I mention how much I adore pink? 😉), and the aroma of freshly brewed tea and freshly baked treats filled the air. I settled down for a delicious afternoon tea, indulging in dainty sandwiches, miniature pastries, and a pot of steaming hot tea. This was the perfect way to end a fabulous day. I felt completely refreshed and ready for the train journey back home.
