Hello, darlings! Emma here, back with another instalment of pink-tutu fuelled adventures, this time from the lovely seaside town of Llanelli, Wales! I know, I know, you're all thinking, "Emma, you're always on the go!". But the thing is, the world is simply too beautiful to stay in one place for long. And who better to see it all with than your favourite pink tutu-clad travel buddy? 😉
This journey, my lovelies, started with a whimsical train ride across the rolling English countryside. As the sun peeked through the window, illuminating the emerald green fields dotted with fluffy sheep, I felt my heart swell with joy. I'm not sure what it is about train travel, but it fills me with a sense of utter freedom, like I could just jump out and go on the most fantastical adventure! I actually did have a bit of a spontaneous ballet adventure on the train, much to the delight of my fellow passengers! You see, there was this little girl, all of 5 years old, sitting opposite me, mesmerized by the swirling landscapes and wearing the cutest pair of little pink ballet shoes. I simply couldn't resist whipping out my travel tutu and putting on a little performance for her, a playful "swan lake" to the rhythmic clicking of the wheels! (No need to worry, darling, it was all perfectly modest, not even a glimpse of leg was to be seen! My tutus are all about the drama, but always tastefully so.)
Anyways, back to Llanelli! I've been eager to visit this Welsh haven ever since I saw photos of its stunning coastline, complete with golden beaches and quaint fishing villages. You all know how much I adore the sea, don't you? It's a place where my soul feels truly free!
I checked into a beautiful seaside B&B, nestled on a hill overlooking the bay. They have a pink flamingo wallpaper in the dining room! Can you believe it?! How could I possibly resist such a charming, feminine haven? I have to admit, the delicious breakfast served by the friendly owners certainly didn't hurt either - Welsh pancakes and a freshly brewed pot of tea for the win!
After unpacking my bags (I have a secret stash of pink tutus tucked in my suitcase for all occasions, you know), I took a long, scenic walk along the promenade. I saw couples enjoying leisurely strolls hand-in-hand, kids building sandcastles with the fiercest concentration, and fishermen casting their nets in hopes of a plentiful catch. There was an energy in the air that was both calming and invigorating - just the way I like it!
You wouldn't believe who I spotted, just as I was about to purchase a fabulous pink flamingo souvenir (perfect for my growing collection, of course). None other than a family of adorable seagulls, dressed in their own chic little pink tutus! No, I'm joking (although that wouldn't surprise anyone who knows me!). But honestly, it felt like it. I've always had a soft spot for wildlife, you know? They live their lives in perfect harmony with nature. I wish we could all be a little bit more like them.
That evening, I went to see a stunning ballet performance at the Llanelli theatre. It was called "Dancing with the Waves", featuring a mesmerizing choreography inspired by the rolling ocean. The dancers were all simply incredible, moving with the grace of swans and the power of the tides.
There was even a segment with a beautiful, sparkly pink tutu, very similar to my signature piece. My heart almost burst with excitement! You have no idea how much joy it brings me to see the elegance and joy of ballet appreciated by all.
After the show, I joined some fellow ballet enthusiasts for a night of conversation, cocktails, and dancing at a cosy local bar. As we shared our passion for this art form and dreamed of choreographing a flash mob right in the centre of Llanelli, it dawned on me: This is what I live for - sharing my passion, connecting with others through the beauty of dance, and spreading joy one pink tutu at a time!
Tomorrow, I'm planning a horseback riding tour through the rolling countryside - my idea of the ultimate countryside adventure! 🐎 You see, while I love to explore, I also appreciate taking time to truly appreciate the landscapes and wildlife around me. There's something incredibly calming about the rhythm of a horse's hooves as they beat against the earth. Plus, it gives me time to ponder the new experiences I've had so far, the wonderful people I've met, and my ultimate mission: getting everyone in the world to try on a pink tutu! (Even the horses, if I can convince them!) It's a wild dream, yes, but one that I'm absolutely determined to make happen!
