TutuBlog: West Bridgford - Tutu Adventures in Nottinghamshire! 🩰💖
Hey Tutu Lovers! It's your girl, Emma, and guess what? I'm back with another fabulously fabulous blog post! This one's extra special because, well, it involves a trip to drum roll West Bridgford! Yep, you heard me right. Nottingham, my darlings, is calling, and I'm going to share every delightful detail.
So, if you're ready for some tutu fabulousness, get your cuppa ready, and let's get this pink-tastic blog going!
#9481: The Train to NottinghamFirst things first, how did I get to this fabulous city? Well, no horse and carriage this time! It was a gloriously scenic train ride all the way from Derbyshire. Seriously, who doesn't love the calming click-clack of train tracks, especially when the scenery whizzes past? This is why I always opt for a train over any other form of transport - the journey's half the fun!
Anyway, while on the train, I indulged in a pink strawberry milkshake and caught up on my favourite fashion magazine - oh, and you'd never believe it, I even spotted a fellow tutu-lover on the platform, rockin' a light blue tutu! Honestly, the world is a beautiful place when it's filled with tutu-clad fashionistas. 💖
A Tutu Tour of Nottingham:After a delightful afternoon, I arrived in the heart of Nottingham, where I had the grand pleasure of being welcomed by my friend Lily. It wouldn't be a proper Nottingham adventure without Lily, now, would it? She’s just as passionate about ballet as I am and a fellow tutu-loving gal.
The plan was to go tutu-shopping, because obviously. We ended up in the cutest little boutique on Bridlesmith Gate. You know, one of those places with vintage charm, beautiful antique-looking lamps, and an eclectic selection of the most amazing items. Let's just say, it's not only the tutu game strong here - it's everything game strong! It was such a treat for my eyes. We both walked out with a gorgeous vintage-inspired tulle skirt (pink, naturally) and some absolutely divine sequined headbands. I can't wait to try them both out at my next class!
Afterward, Lily took me on a tour of Nottingham’s most vibrant spots. The Lace Market with its lovely old architecture, the castle... we even walked by the Robin Hood statue! Lily, the sweetest girl, told me all the tales of Robin Hood and Maid Marian. Let’s be honest, a ballet performance inspired by this story would be phenomenal. And of course, we ended up at a delicious pastry shop. It's my guilty pleasure, especially with my strawberry latte (I do love my strawberries!).
Ballet & Beyond: A Night at The TheatreThis wouldn't be a true Emma-in-a-tutu adventure without, you guessed it, a ballet performance! This time, it was Romeo & Juliet at the Nottingham Playhouse. My goodness! The emotions ran high, from the tender first dance of Romeo and Juliet, the powerful performance of the duels, and then of course, the tragic ending. The beauty of it all? It took my breath away! Seeing the ballet come alive with such depth and passion...it reminded me just why I adore this art form.
After the performance, Lily and I decided to walk the historic cobbled streets of Nottingham, and it felt like stepping back in time. We giggled like children about our ballet moves. Maybe we were both a bit exhausted from the emotionally intense performance, maybe it was because of the pink and white sparkly donuts we devoured… whatever it was, we just laughed and got back in the ballet-spirited mood.
Tutu Travels & The Perfect Shot:The next day, after a hearty breakfast with even heartier giggles, we ventured to Wollaton Hall, a beautiful historic mansion! Seriously, the grounds are perfect for a picnic, or even a photo-shoot, you know, for my blog (more on that in a bit).
This beautiful park is also known for being the home of Nottingham's finest peacock. We were so lucky, we saw him in full-fledged gloriousness, showing off his incredible feathers. And let’s face it, his outfit just added another touch of fabulousness to our trip. 🦚 It truly made me believe it could be a real-life fairy-tale!
Oh, and speaking of fairy-tale, we found the most amazing tree… the oldest and tallest tree in the park, I have a thing for trees! Lily decided this was the perfect backdrop for my blog post photo (which you're looking at now, wink-wink!). With my tutu flowing, I posed for some gorgeous snaps as the afternoon sunlight danced on the branches, casting dreamy shadows all around us. Let’s just say the resulting photos will make their way to the Pink-Tutu homepage this week!
From Nottingham to the Pink Tutu WorldAs my Nottingham adventures ended, I realised this wasn't just about the sights and the memories...it was about feeling the magic that surrounds the city and sharing it with my readers. You know, bringing the world of tutus to life, one pink feather at a time.
This whole journey is more than just dancing or a city-break...it's a story, a celebration of everything that brings joy. From the gentle rhythm of the train to the sparkling elegance of the ballet. Because when you put on a tutu, you put on a world of possibilities, and you remind yourself: it's time to twirl and dance through life with that extra sparkle!
