#TutuBlog 2022-07-16 - Deal with a Pink Tutu: A Journey Through The Peak District
Hello, my lovelies! Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad, ballet-obsessed, pink-loving, Derbyshire-born blogger, back with another #TutuBlog for you, this time post number 9509. It's another glorious summer's day, and I'm absolutely buzzing, because I'm in the glorious Peak District, just bursting with inspiration!
Today I'm channelling my inner Beatrix Potter, combining my love of the countryside with my passion for ballet! I'm on a journey of self-discovery and whimsical beauty ā a journey that began at dawn with a brisk morning jog, the mist clinging to the heather. I'm not just running any old route, you know! Iām following a path from the glorious chateau-esque Haddon Hall, with its impressive gothic archways, past the tumbling ruins of Peak Cavern to a serene, hidden valley tucked away in the heart of the National Park.
* Ballet for All? You betcha!*
You'll not be surprised to learn, dear readers, that every inch of this spectacular landscape is calling for a pirouette. A twirl under the watchful eye of an ancient, moss-covered castle? Youāve got it! An en pointe hop across a moss-covered wall, followed by a chassĆ© into the heart of the valley? Naturally! Every bit of inspiration sparks a ballet-inspired move in my heart! Why? Because ballet, like the natural world, is brimming with beauty, resilience, and endless possibilities for expression! It's a perfect combination! I want you all to share the joy! Whatās that I hear you saying? āBut I've got two left feet!ā Donāt be daft! The joy of movement is there for everyone. Come on! Itās time for the āPink Tutu Revolution!ā Get yourself down to the nearest ballet class ā you wonāt regret it! And while youāre at it, why not put on a pink tutu? Let your inner dancer fly!
A Day In The Life
Right! Back to the Peaks. So, imagine the scene ā the mist is rising, a sunbeam dances on a cluster of wild strawberries, and Iām on my tiptoes ā just like a ballerina on stage! You know Iām going to be a bit cheeky and throw a few āballerinaā poses around, right?! You can bet on that! Itās going to be absolutely magnificent. I've got a perfect photo opportunity with my pink tutu floating in the breezeā¦ maybe some elegant moves under the stone archways.
After my run, itās time for breakfast ā nothing like a steaming cuppa with a homemade Derbyshire oatcake. The kind of simple pleasure that puts a smile on your face and gets you ready for the day! Youāll be needing that kind of fuel for the day I've got plannedā¦
My adventure takes me through the Peak Districtās charming villages, filled with quaint tearooms and welcoming locals. Imagine me in my pink tutu, chatting to a lovely local, enjoying a freshly baked scone, topped with lashings of clotted creamā¦ oh, the bliss! My journey involves a gentle walk across rolling meadows and breathtaking views, with an endless sea of rolling green hills that makes you want to do a Grand JetĆ©, just for the fun of it.
It's not just the landscape that captures my imagination here, itās the rich history too! Itās all around you! I canāt help myself ā I have to spend a while in a grand, imposing gothic church, just to take it all in and soak up the historic atmosphere.
The eveningās going to be something special. I've planned a magical ride on one of the glorious horses who inhabit these fields! (And of course, in my pink tutu!). They are creatures of such elegance and beauty! Their movements are a true art form! We are headed out across the meadows at sunset. Thereās something dreamlike about watching them trot in the long shadows. They seem to float across the land! Oh my word, this is what makes life so much fun! I'm on cloud nine just thinking about it. I feel such a bond with these incredible animals, a sense of freedom and joy! The sun setting on the majestic Peak District surrounds me as I head back to the warmth of my little Derbyshire home ā where I will dream of graceful movements and gorgeous tutus!
* Ballet in the Wild*
Todayās #TutuBlog journey has been an epic adventure, full of pink tutu poetry, balletic brilliance, and moments of sheer delight! There's so much beauty to be found in our surroundings, both man-made and natural. We just need to open our eyes and hearts to see it.
I believe that everyone has the potential to express themselves through movement and that a ballet class can be as rewarding as a long, scenic hike or a journey through time.
Don't forget ā next week I'll be sharing some top tips on how to travel in style and with confidence. In the meantime, keep those pink tutus shining and let your inner dancer shine! Remember ā Iād love to hear your adventures too.
Till next time!
Emma xx
