Kendal Calling: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage (Post #9516)
Hello lovelies! Itโs your girl Emma, back with another daily dose of pink tulle and twirling adventures from the fabulous world of ballet. Today, we're heading north, right up to the stunning Lake District. I know, I know - "Kendal" might not scream "ballerina vibes", but trust me, this town is a hidden gem with an unexpectedly enchanting spirit.
For this trip, I'm channelling the adventurous side of ballet โ think "ballet on the move", "ballet on horseback" or maybe "ballet on a mountaintop" (a girl can dream!). You see, I'm a firm believer that ballet is a journey, not just a destination, and for me, those journeys often involve exploring new corners of the world.
This time, the adventure involved a train ride โ always my favourite way to travel. The "train travel" vibe is definitely chic, don't you think? I've paired my favourite black tutu with a comfy knit and a hot pink shawl. And of course, I've brought my trusty pointe shoes because you never know when the urge to strike a pose will strike! As the rolling countryside unfolded, the views were absolutely breathtaking. I must have snapped at least a hundred photos. Just look at the picturesque beauty! So dramatic, yet so graceful!
Speaking of grace, did I mention I'm bringing a little bit of Derbyshire with me? Well, a whole lot of Derbyshire actually โ a handsome chestnut horse, I mean! You know how I love horses and I am excited to try out riding this fella around the beautiful landscape. Just imagine the possibilities! Horseback ballet โ now thereโs an idea! Weโll probably just be practicing some canters and walking this trip though, Iโm still a bit nervous around the more dramatic maneuvers! But still, you never know! Perhaps the lake itself might call out to us. Or maybe the mountaintops. The Lake District has this incredible energy that's both captivating and calming โ it's just like the magic that ballet brings to the world.
Now, before we jump into exploring Kendal itself, I have a quick question for you lovelies: do you think my black tutu looks elegant enough for a bit of horseback riding? Or should I switch to a light pink tulle? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Maybe we should vote on it - let me know in the comments on www.pink-tutu.com!
As I get ready to explore Kendal, my heart is already full of excitement for this new adventure. From discovering hidden corners of the town to maybe even finding a beautiful local ballet studio (one can hope, right?) - I'm sure my tutu and I are going to have an absolute blast.
And, of course, Iโll keep you updated on every step of the way!
Until tomorrow, keep twirling, stay sassy and don't forget - even if you're not in Kendal, there's always an opportunity to find your own unique "ballet adventure". Every walk, every movement, every graceful moment is an opportunity to embrace your inner ballerina. And always, remember - pink tutus for everyone! Because life is too short not to embrace a little bit of magic and a lot of sparkle!
Lots of love,
Emma
