Highbury Bound, Tutu in Tow! (Post #9529)
Hey lovelies! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-clad ballerina, and today I'm positively pirouetting with excitement! This weekend I'm jetting off to the glorious city of London – but not before a whirlwind of rehearsals and a delicious dose of Derbyshire countryside.
It's funny how the most ordinary things can suddenly spark joy. This morning, I found a tiny pink butterfly flitting around my window – it was almost as if it was a good luck charm for my Highbury adventure! (I think we've all felt the need for a little magic recently, haven't we?) And of course, I had to embrace the fluttery mood by pairing my usual ballet class leotard with a sparkling pink tutu, a new addition to my collection. You know me, always bringing a touch of sparkle to every moment!
After an exhilarating class at the studio, I swapped my ballet shoes for a pair of trusty knee-high riding boots, a must-have for any girl who likes a bit of countryside adventure. My trusty steed, Jasper, was waiting for me in the stable, his coat shimmering in the afternoon sunshine. A few moments with him, his warm breath against my cheek, his steady trot carrying me through the Derbyshire hills, and my soul was completely recharged.
This journey to London is a bit of a departure from my usual train travels, but it felt right. Maybe it’s a little more ‘Cinderella’ vibes – think elegant coach and four, except my coach is a vintage Fiat 500, all powder blue and chrome, and I’m definitely not wearing a glass slipper. 😉
But the heart of this adventure remains the same - the magic of movement, of dance, of embracing the beauty in the everyday. I'm looking forward to taking in some incredible ballet performances, soaking up the atmosphere at the Royal Opera House and of course, exploring the hidden gems of London with my very own Italian Tutu. (More on that soon, darlings! I think you’ll agree it's a fabulous addition to my wardrobe. Whispers Think flowing tulle and shimmering silk.)
This trip will also be an opportunity to delve deeper into the exciting world of Ballet Street, a relatively new dance form, where ballet choreography is interwoven with elements of street dance and hip-hop. I’ve already seen some incredible video clips, and it’s sparked an irresistible urge to experiment, to learn and to explore this hybrid art form. Who knows? Perhaps I’ll even throw in a few ballet-inspired dance moves in the middle of the Piccadilly Circus.
The sheer audacity of it all excites me! Ballet is for everyone, you know? We should all embrace that childlike sense of wonder and the freedom of expression, of movement, of a beautiful world where tutus and sparkly tights reign supreme.
London, get ready for a dose of pink and pirouettes!
I can't wait to share every glittery, twirly moment with you here on my little corner of the internet – www.pink-tutu.com. Stay tuned for a whole new wardrobe of looks, from ballet class to a fancy Covent Garden dinner!
Love and twirls,
Emma xxx
