Aberdeen Adventures in Pink! šŸ©°šŸŒø

Hey gorgeous dancers and fellow tutu-lovers! šŸ’– It's Emma here, back with another post from my pink-filled life! Today marks blog post number 9569 ā€“ who knew Iā€™d be writing so much about ballet, tutus and travels! But, hey, there's never enough room in the world for a little bit more pink, right?

Anyway, this time, I'm waltzing my way through the lovely city of Aberdeen. Yes, you read that right! This beautiful Scottish city is definitely giving me all the right vibes - a gorgeous coastline, charming streets, and plenty of history, perfect for a ballet-loving gal like me!

The journey up was quite the adventure. Of course, I opted for a train ride - nothing beats gazing at the passing scenery while I work on my next dance routine in my head. I love the feeling of the train carriage vibrating as we gather speed and the wind whipping my hair, all while I imagine I'm dancing across the Scottish Highlands! The journey might not have been by horseback (my absolute favourite mode of transport), but it was certainly a lovely experience nonetheless! Iā€™ve always loved that iconic train journey soundā€¦ ā€œtick-tock, tick-tockā€¦ā€ It makes you feel like youā€™re in your own little world, almost like an exclusive balletic bubbleā€¦

Now, Aberdeen. The city itself is truly delightful, with its granite architecture, beautiful harbour, and friendly people. You know me, I couldnā€™t resist heading straight to the waterfront, just to catch a glimpse of the dramatic North Sea waves crashing against the rocks ā€“ talk about dramatic! And, I think I spotted a little harbour seal in the distanceā€¦ oh how I love a bit of wildlife!

This morning, I hit the city streets, determined to soak in every inch of this fabulous place. It was like stepping into a beautiful fairytale - imagine, perfectly cobbled streets adorned with pastel-coloured houses, topped off with pretty flowers and balconies filled with gorgeous vibrant huesā€¦ a total ballet set design! Honestly, Aberdeen just makes me want to dance everywhere I go, and my trusty pink tutu (my Aberdeen edition is a fluffy, dreamy pink) just amplifies that feeling!

This evening, I had the most incredible experience at the Aberdeen Music Hall, which hosts a breathtaking performance of the Royal Ballet. They were performing my absolute favourite ā€“ Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." It's pure enchantment ā€“ from the haunting melodies to the incredible dancers effortlessly embodying both grace and power ā€“ just magical! I think my tutu even swished in sympathy to the dancers' movements...

But that wasn't all! My little heart couldn't help but notice this tiny independent bookshop hidden away down a side street. They have the most gorgeous collection of vintage ballet books ā€“ think "Swan Lake" programmes, beautiful illustrations of legendary ballerinas, even books detailing the history of costume designā€¦ heaven! The scent of aged paper, the sheer volume of tales waiting to be discoveredā€¦ I literally could have stayed there for hours. You bet I found a beautiful antique book on Russian ballerinas that is definitely making it's way back to my Derbyshire home!

But now, itā€™s time for a well-deserved rest! It's been an incredible day exploring Aberdeen and getting a feel for its enchanting ballet culture. Honestly, every day I see a little more evidence that everyone just needs a bit of pink in their life and a good prance around ā€“ who doesnā€™t love to express themselves with a twirl?!

Stay tuned, dancers! Next up ā€“ a magical ballet class in Edinburgh and a secret ballet-themed cafe that I just can't wait to share with you! And who knows, maybe Iā€™ll even get some footage for a little video montage to go with this post!

Remember, always dance like nobody's watching... and be sure to wear your pink tutu!

Sending you all the pinkest love and warmest hugs!

Until next time,

Emma
