Oxford Odyssey: A Food-tastic Tutu Adventure!

Hello my gorgeous Tutu Tribe!

It’s your girl Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Oxford! This adventure marked my 9576th blog post - can you believe it? I'm so grateful for you all joining me on this journey of twirls and tutus. And speaking of twirls, this one was extra special, as you’ll soon discover.

Oxford has always held a special place in my heart. I've dreamed of exploring its ancient buildings and cobblestone streets for ages, and the opportunity finally arose! My journey started with a traditional British train ride from Derbyshire. Now, let's be real, the only thing better than a train journey is a train journey with a fabulous tutu! This time, I whipped up a real eye-catcher – a beautiful blush-pink tutu adorned with tiny edible pastries and miniature croissants! It was a delicious masterpiece and got all sorts of giggles and compliments from fellow travellers.

As I stepped off the train at Oxford Station, I felt like I was walking into a fairytale. It was bustling with energy, full of students, tourists, and charming little shops. It was a real scene! I could feel the historic vibes buzzing all around. I spent the day soaking up the sights: the iconic Radcliffe Camera, the majestic Bodleian Library, and the breath-taking Christ Church College (remember, it was Harry Potter-approved, darling!). Every corner held a piece of history, making me feel like I’d been transported back in time.

Now, my tutu game was far from finished. I was determined to take on Oxford with a foodie flair, and so I put on my pièce de résistance: a custom-designed tutu, showcasing miniature versions of all my favourite sweet treats! Think pastel pink macarons, fluffy pink doughnuts, and adorable mini cupcakes – it was a total treat for the eyes (and the tummy!)

Wearing this delightful masterpiece, I took to the streets. It was impossible to blend in, of course! Everywhere I went, I was greeted with laughter and delighted cheers. People wanted pictures with me and told me my tutu was “utterly delightful”. It just goes to show that the world needs more pink tutus – and what better place to start than in Oxford!

Later, I headed to the world-famous Sheldonian Theatre to watch a fantastic ballet performance by Oxford University Ballet. You’ve probably heard the stories - the prestigious halls of Oxford are practically a breeding ground for incredible dancers. The show was a total triumph! These young artists displayed phenomenal skill, breathtaking leaps, and perfect grace, it really did have it all! The stage presence was stunning and I can’t tell you how inspiring they all were.

Afterwards, my Oxford experience was punctuated with a glorious dinner at a quaint French restaurant – where else?! As the moon lit up the night sky, I savoured every last bite of my exquisite dessert (a delectable pink raspberry mille-feuille, no less!), knowing this trip had truly left a lasting impression.

As I boarded the train back to Derbyshire, I couldn’t stop thinking about my time in Oxford. This enchanting city truly captivated me with its history, charm, and a vibrant culture. This trip taught me that no matter where you go, a pink tutu and a passion for ballet are sure to turn heads!

Speaking of passion – mine is all about making ballet accessible for everyone! Whether you've always dreamt of taking a class or are simply looking to channel your inner ballerina, don’t let anything hold you back! I encourage all my dear readers to give it a try, you won’t regret it!

Remember, tutus are more than just fashion - they are a symbol of grace, joy, and empowerment. They allow us to express our individuality, step out of our comfort zones, and make a bold statement.

Until next time, my beautiful Tutu Tribe! Keep twirling, keep shining, and keep rocking those pink tutus!

Much love, Emma

xx
