#TutuBlog 2022-10-25: A Fairy Tale in Stevenage

Hello my darling tutu-loving lovelies! Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire ballerina, ready to whisk you away to a world of twirls and enchantment!

Today, I'm stepping outside the studio and into the real world - but even here, my tutu has a starring role! It’s a beautiful Autumn day, the leaves are starting to turn and there's a crispness in the air, and I'm embracing the fairy vibes with a delightful pink tutu adorned with shimmering fairy wings. Think whimsical, ethereal and just a touch mischievous! 😉

Today's journey began with a thrilling train ride – always the perfect way to start a ballet-filled day. Watching the scenery blur by from the window makes me feel like a ballerina leaping through fields of wildflowers – pure magic! And just to add a touch of extra fairytale fun, I had my trusty sidekick – my faithful chestnut mare, Willow – waiting to meet me at the station.

Yes, you heard that right! My travel routine is as unique as my wardrobe. Sometimes it’s a train, other times, it’s a good ol’ fashioned horse ride! The journey to Stevenage was full of charm – the scent of Autumn leaves and the gentle rhythm of Willow’s hooves… pure magic, I tell you!

Now, why Stevenage you might be asking? Well, this town, known for its sprawling green spaces and a beautiful art deco theatre, was holding a special "Autumn Fairytale Festival"! Think face-painting, handmade crafts, fairy tale characters… and, of course, a captivating ballet performance by a local troupe!

Oh, you just had to be there to see the little ones dressed in their princess gowns and charming little gentlemen in their dapper suits. And, let's not forget the magic of seeing those beautiful children light up as they caught sight of my pink tutu and its shimmering wings. Honestly, their joy was infectious, a pure reflection of the happiness that dancing brings!

I managed to weave my way through the crowd, stopping every few steps to chat with the friendly locals and admire their handcrafted treasures. A stall filled with colourful yarn was irresistible, and before I knew it, I had a delightful bundle of soft, pink yarn nestled under my arm, just perfect for creating my very own little fairy-themed projects!

The day was getting late, so I finally found myself seated inside the elegant art deco theatre, eagerly anticipating the start of the ballet performance. The stage was transformed into a world of enchantment, complete with twinkling lights, shimmering costumes, and breathtaking leaps that made my heart sing. It truly reminded me of why I love ballet so much.

Even though it was only a community ballet company, their talent shone brightly. I could see the passion and dedication in every pirouette, every grand jeté – a truly inspiring display of the power of art! As the final curtain came down, I was left feeling rejuvenated and filled with a newfound love for this magical form of expression.

As dusk settled upon Stevenage, and Willow waited patiently by the theatre doors, I reflected upon the day's adventures. Not only did I enjoy an exhilarating performance, but I had the chance to spread some ballet joy amongst the local community. It was just another testament to my ultimate mission: to get everyone twirling in a pink tutu and embracing the beauty of ballet, no matter what shape, size, or location they call home.

Now, as I pen these words, I'm still buzzing with excitement. My pink tutu is nestled comfortably on the back of Willow's saddle, a perfect reminder of the magic that unfolded in Stevenage. But, of course, this journey isn't over just yet.

Join me tomorrow, lovelies, as I venture to a new destination, explore another hidden gem, and share another exciting ballet adventure with you. Remember, every day is a chance to embrace the pink, twirl, and spread a little magic!

Until tomorrow, keep shining! 💖
