Burton upon Trent: Tutu Time! 🩰
Hello, darlings! 💋 It’s Emma, your favourite tutu-loving, pink-obsessed ballerina, bringing you post number 9632 from the charming town of Burton upon Trent. I’m absolutely buzzing, because today’s adventures were seriously full of sparkles and twirls – just how I like it! ✨
I’ve always dreamt of taking a little train journey out into the countryside, and today, I made it happen! I boarded the train bright and early, dressed in my gorgeous amethyst tutu (you know I have to be a bit matchy-matchy with my surroundings!). The train was as smooth as silk and the scenery was utterly breathtaking. You wouldn’t believe how beautiful the rolling hills and vibrant countryside were, all painted in autumnal colours of ochre and crimson. Honestly, it was just perfect.
But enough about the picturesque journey, let’s talk Burton upon Trent! It’s a charming town, full of history and character. First on the agenda? A visit to the National Brewery Centre. Who knew brewing could be so fascinating? There was even a lovely little cafe serving scones and clotted cream (need I say more?). I almost convinced them to make a special pink-hued ale for the "Pink Tutu" crew, but they were a little hesitant – imagine, though, pink beer! So glamorous.
After all that culture, it was time to indulge in some of Burton’s delights – their legendary pies! Let’s be honest, the moment I saw that enormous beef and ale pie I just had to give in. It was every bit as delicious as it looked, and with the biggest, flakiest pastry, it made for a truly satisfying lunch.
Full of good vibes, I set off for the heart of the town – the Market Square. And let me tell you, this place had it all: quirky independent shops, antique stalls brimming with treasures, and street performers adding an air of festivity. There were even some cheeky pigeons trying to steal my chips! 😜
Now, it wouldn’t be a trip for your favourite tutu-loving ballerina without some ballet inspiration, would it? I had heard rumours of a little ballet school tucked away in a cobbled side street, so naturally, I had to investigate. Stepping into the studio felt like stepping back in time – it had this wonderful, old-fashioned charm. The classes were bustling with children, each one so eager to learn and dance their hearts out. The passion in the room was contagious, and I swear, I felt myself pirouetting in the doorway, just watching!
Speaking of dance, it’s not just humans who can twirl. While I was admiring the local wildlife (so many adorable robins and squirrels!) in the Burton Arboretum, I noticed a troupe of dancing squirrels. Seriously! It’s like they had tiny tutus of their own – oh, they were just so elegant, flitting through the branches. They really made my day!
And that, my dears, was Burton upon Trent. From a pink-tinted ale dream to delightful squirrel pirouettes, this charming town was a real highlight for me.
If you're thinking about visiting Burton, make sure to wear your pinkest tutu, and try some of the local pies – I promise, you won't be disappointed.
Until next time, my sweethearts!
Yours in Pink & Tutus,
Emma
