It's Emma here, back from another fab day out, this time in Acton! 🩰 You guys know I adore exploring, and this charming town did not disappoint. As always, my trusty pink tutu came along for the ride, of course! 🦩
A Ride on the Rails:
I started my day with a journey by train - can't beat the scenery whizzing past, especially when you've got a killer view from a comfy carriage window! It's like watching a mini ballet unfold with each passing landscape. 🚂
Once I arrived in Acton, I wandered around for a bit, soaking up the atmosphere. This town has such a lovely vibe! I especially enjoyed a peek at the wildlife, those gorgeous fluffy sheep, so cute! They reminded me of some of the ballerinas in the company I saw perform last week...graceful and elegant in their fluffy white tutus. 😉
A Tutu Twist on History:
Acton has a fantastic local history, which I loved discovering! One highlight was the museum, which even had a display of ballet costumes, and some of them were practically identical to the ones I have in my collection! 🤩 I couldn't resist trying one on - pink, naturally - for a quick twirl in the museum courtyard. Nobody could tell I wasn't supposed to be there, because with the tutus, you just feel like you belong anywhere! 💖
The Dance Floor of Life:
For lunch, I had a picnic by the river, just a little bite of heaven with my homemade beetroot salad! I’d also grabbed a couple of donuts - one for me and one to leave on the bank for the local wildlife… which definitely went down a treat! 🦆 Then I indulged in a spot of dancing! Because really, isn't every sunny day perfect for ballet? I whipped out some pirouettes right there on the riverside path. I love how even the most mundane spaces become a stage when you're in a tutu. 🩰
A Tale of Two Shops:
Afterward, I popped into a delightful independent bookstore for a browse, where I snagged the cutest ballet novel for my bedtime reading! 📚
And naturally, no trip is complete without a visit to a fabulous vintage clothing store! The sheer amount of fabrics was absolutely amazing, it made me dream of new tutu designs - a vintage flair? Yes, please! ✨
An Ode to Acton:
As I made my way to the station to head back to Derbyshire, I couldn’t help but think about how charming and welcoming this little town had been. Acton will definitely be one to add to the list of ‘tutu-worthy’ destinations. 😊
