Hello my lovelies! ?
Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend trip to the seaside, and feeling absolutely en pointe (pun intended!). ? Today, I'm buzzing with excitement to share with you all my fabulous adventures in Cleethorpes. As usual, my trusty red tutu was packed for the journey, and trust me, it was a hit! ?
Before I even got to Cleethorpes, my train journey was a feast for the senses. The Derbyshire countryside is simply stunning - rolling hills dotted with sheep, emerald green fields, and that beautiful clear blue sky. Oh, and I saw a fox! A little fella, dashing across the tracks - too cute! ?
The train ride itself was filled with the kind of joyful chatter that only fellow tutu lovers can provide! A lady in a floral-print dress with matching heels (fab!) offered me a cupcake - lemon, naturally. ? The man sitting opposite was enthralled by my tutu and actually, believe it or not, mentioned how much he loved Swan Lake! He was a real gent - and I was able to chat all things ballet with him, from our favourite dancers to the joy of twirling on stage. ?
Anyway, after a few hours and a whole lotta "look at this!" comments from the other passengers (love the attention! ?), I arrived at Cleethorpes. The salty air hit me as soon as I stepped off the platform - pure joy! I found my little seaside flat, with its beautiful balcony overlooking the pier. It's absolutely perfect for the weekend. ?
Cleethorpes Calling:
Right away, I felt the spirit of adventure calling me, so I set out to explore. I love Cleethorpes! It has the sweetest charm – cobbled streets, candy-coloured shops, and those delicious fish and chips places, that I know you just can't find in Derbyshire. ?
My first stop was the iconic Cleethorpes Pier, naturally. The sunshine was glorious, and the smell of fresh sea air was truly exhilarating! I had to document it all for my blog, so of course I posed on the pier with my red tutu. ?
I took some seriously cool pictures on the pier with a real, genuine old-school ice cream van behind me, complete with Mr Whippy and all! ? Imagine a red tutu against a background of blue skies, white fluffy clouds and that iconic Cleethorpes Pier, with its colourful candy floss and little colourful flags... You know what they say, "A picture paints a thousand words." ? But seriously, guys, it was pure picture perfection. ✨
Dancing on the Sands:
In the evening, I walked along the beach. It was pure magic, with the setting sun painting the sky in beautiful shades of orange and pink. Of course, I couldn’t resist twirling on the sand. My tutu fluttered in the gentle sea breeze, and I let the sand slide between my toes. It’s that kind of feeling - being a little girl again, just pure joy! ?
That's what makes wearing a tutu so amazing; you feel carefree, light on your feet, ready to dance anywhere! And you know what, I got a few approving smiles from the dog walkers and kids building sandcastles. Honestly, there's something magical about dancing under a sunset with a red tutu. Just perfect. ?
* Ballet Magic*
To keep my love of ballet alive, I just had to check out the local theatre. My phone informed me of a brilliant ballet showcase - they were performing excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. ? I actually got a little tear in my eye watching the beautiful ballerina who played Odette – she truly moved with such elegance.
Watching ballet performances in small town venues always fills me with such a warm feeling. The community spirit in Cleethorpes shone through. You could tell how much these performances meant to everyone - so magical, I think it’s exactly why I am drawn to this life - spreading the joy of dance and colour, no matter where I am. And of course, it goes without saying that it was so inspiring to be reminded why I wear my tutus every day - they are the purest form of self-expression and joy - there is nothing that can compare to the thrill of twirling! ✨
And Now for the Pink!
On the last day, I decided to spread a little pink love, of course. I'm determined to convince everyone that the world is a more joyful place with a pink tutu in it! ? I wandered through Cleethorpes' little shops, stopping to chat with shop owners, and I found this sweet, pink cupcake shop. It's just my style. I picked up a dozen, all pink of course, and then spent the afternoon handing them out on the beach. Everyone was so delighted - especially the children!
It was amazing to see their little faces light up. It reminded me how easy it is to bring a little sparkle into someone's day! It doesn’t have to be big and it doesn’t have to be bold. Just a small gesture - a kind word, a beautiful cupcake, or in my case, my pink tutu, makes such a difference! ?
And I've got to say, it’s a little easier when you’ve got a bright pink tutu, because well… everyone knows you’re there to spread some sunshine. ?
I’m already dreaming about my next adventure! What should I wear? Maybe my silver sequined tutu... ?
As always, don't forget to share your pink tutu stories!
Stay radiant! ✨
Love,
Emma ?
