You see, my dears, sometimes even a self-proclaimed "pink tutu queen" like me needs a little change of pace. Now, I'm not talking about switching my favourite colour – let's be serious, pink is forever! But occasionally, a bit of a twist is a great way to keep life exciting. So, I decided to add a touch of purple to my repertoire today.
Think of it as a delicate swirl of lavender through a pink-hued dreamscape – you know, like adding a touch of shimmer to your favourite cupcake frosting. Yes, I felt daring today, embracing the lilac hues of my new favourite tutu – a luxurious velvet piece with an elegant flowing skirt that whispered "adventure" with each twirl.
Now, some of you might wonder how I made my way to this lovely Derbyshire town. Let's just say that this wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without a touch of old-world romance! So, I hopped aboard a glorious, vintage train with gleaming brass accents, reminiscent of the elegant journeys of the Victorian era.
The train carried me through charming landscapes – think rolling green hills, fields brimming with wildflowers, and even a friendly fox darting across the track, sending a fleeting, mischievous "hello" as we whizzed by. I'll confess, the fox did give me a fleeting moment of worry (after all, I am a ballet dancer, not a professional animal wrangler!), but his playful grin assured me it was nothing more than a harmless hello from a fellow nature lover.
Arriving in Ilkeston felt like stepping into a picture postcard. The cobblestone streets were bustling with locals, charming tea shops beckoned with the promise of warm, comforting delights, and the air hummed with a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere. This was the perfect setting for my purple-tutu-inspired exploration, filled with whimsy and charm.
Naturally, a visit to Ilkeston wouldn't be complete without a dance stop! So, I ventured into the Ilkeston Dance Studios – a haven of grace and movement. It was like stepping into a little piece of Parisian elegance – a place where stories were told through leaps and pirouettes.

During the class, I even managed to squeeze in a quick impromptu "purple-tutu-inspired" ballet mini-performance. After the class, I sat down for a leisurely tea in one of Ilkeston's delightful tea rooms. A delicate lavender teacake perfectly complemented my purple tutu mood!
