Today’s journey took me to the vibrant North Shields, a bustling coastal town brimming with character, a charming harbour, and the kindest people! It's been a while since I've hopped aboard a train, so it was wonderful to catch a glimpse of the rolling hills and glistening rivers, feeling the wind in my hair and dreaming of dancing pirouettes amidst the fields of wildflowers!
A Pancake Tutu Delights the Shores
North Shields welcomed me with open arms, and I knew instantly it was going to be a fantastic day! You see, I’d been harbouring a little secret: I’d decided to wear a pancake tutu for this adventure!
Yes, you read that right - a pancake tutu! Made entirely of pancakes (of course, stacked high with delicious maple syrup and a sprinkle of strawberries for a touch of ballet-pink), this masterpiece was a testament to my dedication to merging fashion and foodie delights! (Who needs a croissant when you can have a pancake tutu, right?!). I won't lie, it wasn't the easiest thing to navigate in the world, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The sheer delight it brought to passers-by made the slight wobbly steps totally worth it!
Discovering North Shields with Ballet in My Heart
The smell of salty air, the chatter of the seagulls, the gentle lull of the waves… there’s a certain magic to being near the ocean that fills me with an overwhelming sense of calm and joy. As the afternoon sun began to set, casting a warm glow on the picturesque North Shields harbour, I decided to take a little stroll along the promenade, enjoying the breathtaking coastal views and indulging in a scoop of homemade ice cream. The beach held an irresistible allure, its vastness inviting dreams of grand leaps and dramatic arabesques.
However, this adventure took a surprising twist – a gentle touch of wildlife magic! A colony of playful seals decided to grace us with their presence! They tumbled, rolled, and barked merrily just a short distance from the shoreline, delighting all those lucky enough to witness their antics. Watching them frolicking, it was as if they were performing their own underwater ballet! It reminded me of how essential it is to appreciate the beauty in the simplest things - from a delicate pink flower blooming in a meadow to a graceful sea creature swimming in the depths of the ocean. Every living thing has its own unique story to tell, and I felt humbled and awestruck by this unexpected encounter.
