Hello my darlings! 👋 It's Emma here, back from another whirl around the countryside, and let me tell you, it's been a truly delightful trip! Today's adventure took me to Bromsgrove, a little town in Worcestershire, and I can't wait to tell you all about it! It wouldn't be a proper Emma outing without a sprinkle of pink, and this time, it was a fabulously fluffy pink tutu that set the stage for this adventure. 🎀 It was a brand new one, a vintage find I snagged at a market in Derby - a little treat to myself after my recent ballet workshop at the Derby Playhouse. Speaking of the playhouse, they put on a smashing performance of "The Nutcracker" a few weeks back! A bit of holiday magic in February! 💖🎄
Now, back to Bromsgrove! This town was a delight from the minute I stepped off the train. I mean, the train journey itself was an absolute dream - it's always such a pleasure to get a good glimpse of the rolling countryside! 💚 You can almost smell the fresh air, can't you? And I know some people prefer their travel by car, but give me a comfy seat, a good book, and a steaming cuppa on the train any day. 🥰
But the highlight of my Bromsgrove trip had to be the delightful Wildlife Park. What an absolute gem! 🦌🐾 I adore animals, especially those little creatures that might just disappear from the face of the planet if we don't care for them! 😥 And Bromsgrove's Wildlife Park is full of endangered and rare animals, from majestic tigers to playful monkeys! 🐅🐒 It was truly fascinating seeing these creatures up close, and learning about their lives and what we can do to protect them. 💖
Now, no trip of mine is complete without a ballet performance. Luckily, the lovely Bromsgrove Arts Centre was showcasing the most beautiful contemporary ballet production, featuring stunning choreography, stunning costumes, and truly incredible dancing. You just get swept up in the emotion and the movement, it's absolutely exhilarating! 🙌💃
Of course, a dance-lover like myself couldn't leave Bromsgrove without a visit to a dance school. 🩰 The Bromsgrove School of Dance is run by a truly passionate teacher, who brought tears to my eyes with her enthusiasm for the art of dance. ✨ She even offered to let me have a little twirl in the studio! I was too excited to refuse, even if I am a little rusty after a busy few weeks. But don't worry, I'm not about to retire my tutu just yet! 💪
And speaking of twirling, have you guys tried ballet-inspired street dancing? It's totally taken over TikTok recently and it's so much fun! You get to combine the grace of ballet with the dynamic energy of street dance and it's a brilliant way to get moving and have a giggle at the same time! 😄 I even tried teaching a few moves to the children in the Wildlife Park - they loved it, and even I managed not to step on anyone's tail! 😂
So, Bromsgrove, thank you for a wonderful weekend of dancing, wildlife, and laughter. It was absolutely perfect! 🥰
