London Calling! 🩰💖 (Blog Post #9805)
Hey darlings!
Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to London, and let me tell you, it was absolutely divine! London, my loves, is just bursting with beauty, and it's just about the most perfect place to wear a tutu - in fact, I'd say a tutu belongs in London!
As usual, I made sure I brought my trusty pink tutu - you just can't be in the capital without a bit of colour and sparkle, and my oh-my, it's so fabulous for getting a second glance wherever I go. Especially at Paddington station. It's a bit tricky with the crowds and the Tube, but I find a little extra patience is needed, especially when a little bird decides to perch on your sparkly tulle! I think they’re drawn to the sequins… or perhaps just the sheer amount of tulle.
Anyway, this trip was all about ballet! I managed to catch a show at the Royal Opera House, Romeo & Juliet, and it was absolutely magical! Honestly, you wouldn't believe the energy and the raw emotion. It absolutely brought me to tears (it always does, especially Romeo & Juliet – maybe that's just my Derbyshire heart. 😉 ) The dancers, my oh my, they were just unbelievable - their technique and strength were just outstanding and those incredible jumps made my jaw drop!
But before the show, of course, I went for a ballet class at one of London's fantastic studios - and can I just tell you, you would NOT believe the amount of talented dancers in that city! There were so many amazing studios, all bustling with energetic dancers - it truly felt like a home away from home. I learned a new variation for my class, and let me tell you, it’s got so many fancy pirouettes, you'd think I'd been spinning for hours!
Later that afternoon, after my ballet class, I thought, "Why not go and see some London landmarks, right?". So, I set off to explore a bit. The sun was shining (yes, believe it or not!), and I took a leisurely walk through Hyde Park. It was just glorious to see all the beautiful people in their sunshine outfits, soaking up the warmth and watching the ducks by the lake.
There was a wonderful display of flowers in bloom, so naturally, I twirled through a little ballet piece there. Just imagine, me in a beautiful pink tutu with my pink hairband (my trusty hair accessory) right under a majestic, majestic London park sky. 🦢🐦 A moment that could only be dreamed about!
The following day was a ballet day all over again. A lovely theatre ballet, which involved some great street dance! London, you see, isn't just for classical ballet. The street style dance scene is equally impressive, and it was just so cool to see those moves!
A few hours of fun, and the London bus was next. A bit more tulle than is normally allowed for, but Londoners didn't bat an eyelid, which I liked! They must have known this ballerina needed to take a moment on the bus and go into "ballet mode", you know?
That evening, the ballet went on with a private, candle-lit show on the edge of a huge field, right by an open barn with horses. The scene was a bit less sparkly and a little more rural than a traditional ballet studio.
It was a lovely experience. There was even a friendly foal (he loved my pink tutu) that had gotten a bit too close for comfort, but was shooed away before it could have too much fun tugging at the tulle. Luckily my tutu stayed intact, unlike poor old ‘Flash’, the horse – who must have decided to make a break for it as soon as I started a little pirouette. My bad, I guess! 🤪
Anyway, I know you guys always love hearing about my ballet adventures and fashion finds! So I have to tell you about a cute boutique I discovered right in the middle of the bustle. Imagine my delight when I spotted a fluffy, oh-so-sweet pink ballet top - it's the softest fabric ever and is totally my vibe! I'll definitely be wearing it for my next class and adding it to my collection for my Pink-Tutu page.
Well, London truly stole my heart this time, and my suitcase (though slightly stretched to the limits by my tutus). This trip was all about beauty, art, and ballet - and trust me, there's nothing like a pink tutu to truly encapsulate those elements. Remember, darlings, my goal in life is for everyone to wear pink tutus and get moving with some ballet, no matter your experience! Let's make the world a more beautiful, pinker place!
Catch you soon! Emma 💕✨
