Liverpool Calling! 🩰 Pink Tutu Takes On the Mersey!
Post Number: 9812
Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the fabulous city of Liverpool! This week has been absolutely whirlwindy, full of exciting adventures and of course, a whole lot of pink! 💖 As you all know, I can’t resist a good road trip, and this time, I took the train – an absolutely charming, vintage one too! There’s just something about the rhythmic clack of the wheels and the passing scenery that gets me in the mood for a good dose of adventure!
Now, I have to tell you about my outfit. I absolutely had to wear a tutu for this trip, and it had to be European style. Think prima ballerina meets travel blogger. The classic ballet pink tulle was perfect with its ethereal flutter as I walked the streets of this historic city, and to add a bit of sass, I chose a vintage jacket and a chunky pair of pink boots that echoed the city’s edgy charm.
Liverpool has a way of capturing your heart, don't you think? It's full of character, and every corner reveals a new story waiting to be explored. The cobbled streets lead to quaint cafes, the Mersey River whispers secrets from the past, and the iconic architecture adds a touch of Victorian elegance. The energy here is electric, and I could practically feel the spirit of The Beatles buzzing around me!
A Symphony of Art and BalletLiverpool’s cultural scene blew me away! First on my list was a visit to the Tate Liverpool, home to some stunning contemporary art exhibitions. I wandered through the galleries, getting lost in a world of color, light, and bold creativity. Afterwards, I ventured into the charming Cavern Quarter, a historical haven filled with legendary music venues and bars, a real testament to Liverpool's musical legacy.
My real treat was attending a performance of The Royal Ballet at the Liverpool Empire Theatre. This stunning theater with its rich history transported me back to a different era. The ballerinas glided across the stage, their movements exquisite and ethereal, accompanied by a live orchestra playing a symphony of sound that touched my soul. You know I couldn't resist snapping a few photos of the beautiful stage and the ballerinas in their pink tutus – the perfect contrast to the black backdrop and bright lights!
Pink tutu on, pink tutu off, but always twirling! 🩰
While I’m a lover of all things theatre, I wouldn't be true to myself without embracing some street-style ballet, wouldn’t you agree? I spent an afternoon taking in a free open-air ballet class at Sefton Park, surrounded by green, leafy foliage and sunshine. The energy was fantastic - we were all a little bit wobbly, but it was just pure, uninhibited fun! And, of course, I rocked my signature pink tutu. Everyone, from little ones in their sparkly tights to seasoned dancers, embraced the pink tutu spirit and we danced together like a whimsical, pink-clad troupe!
More Than Just a Tutu...Let me tell you, darling, my trip to Liverpool was so much more than just ballet and pink tutus! (Although, they definitely stole the show!) I’m a bit of a nature lover too, and couldn’t resist taking a day trip to the Isle of Man. I explored the stunning scenery of the Isle’s coastline, the wild landscape dotted with charming villages and ancient monuments. The air was fresh and crisp, and the scenery so serene that it felt like I had entered another world!
There was just so much to love about this trip – the history, the energy, the breathtaking sights, and, of course, the feeling of connection with the incredible ballet world! But, if I could summarize my adventures in three words, they would be: Pink. Tutus. And Adventure.
And now for a little something special:
Since my goal in life is to make pink tutus as ubiquitous as jeans and t-shirts, I want you all to do something special this week! Grab your favourite pink tutu, your best pink dress, or a bright pink scarf, and take a twirl outside! Share a photo with me on social media and don't forget to use the hashtag #pinktutuweek! It doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced a day in your life – the beauty of ballet is its inclusivity! It's for everyone, from the seasoned prima ballerina to the beginner twirling in their living room!
Love, Emma xoxo
