It's your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, here! Today I'm bringing you sunshine vibes straight from the beautiful city of Cambridge! Now, you all know how much I love travelling, and I especially love travelling in style, which means one thing… my German tutu made its grand appearance on this trip, naturally! 😉
This fabulous tutu is a real statement piece - it's made of the most exquisite pale pink tulle, so soft and airy, it feels like a dream. I can't even explain the magic it brings when I twirl - it's like a fluffy pink cloud, embracing me in a delightful whirlwind!
But let's talk about the real reason for this journey! You see, I simply can't resist a good ballet show! This time I was in Cambridge for the "Giselle" performance at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, and it was utterly enchanting! I mean, Giselle's story is so classic, so poignant - it really pulls on the heartstrings, doesn't it? And the choreography, oh my! Just breathtaking!
After the show, I couldn't resist a little peek into the Royal Cambridge School of Ballet. Their studios are absolutely stunning, and the energy in there was just so vibrant! You could really feel the passion for dance swirling in the air, and I swear I could practically hear the tutus rustling in anticipation of the next pirouette! It was honestly inspiring.
One of the best things about travelling, especially to places like Cambridge, is getting to experience the beauty of the world, beyond just the ballet. And let me tell you, Cambridge is a city bursting with charm! We took a leisurely walk through the historic centre, admiring the gorgeous architecture and soaking up the warm, vibrant atmosphere. There's something truly magical about the narrow streets and winding alleys of Cambridge.
Of course, no trip would be complete without some time spent in nature. We had the most incredible day out at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, surrounded by stunning blooms and tranquil ponds. It was such a welcome break from the city bustle, a perfect place to reflect on all the beauty I'd absorbed during my time in Cambridge.
Speaking of beauty, let's chat about the pink theme of this adventure. I swear, I felt like a princess! Every shade of pink from soft pastel to the boldest fuchsia were splashed across my outfits. And of course, no tutu adventure is complete without a splash of pink! Even my train journey to Cambridge had a touch of pink: the carriage I sat in was a vibrant shade of cherry blossom pink! Honestly, who could ask for a better trip?
One thing I love about travelling by train is that it allows you to really soak in the journey. It's not about getting to your destination as fast as possible, but savouring the little moments, taking in the landscape and experiencing the world from a different perspective. I got to see fields ablaze with wildflowers, villages tucked away amongst rolling hills, and sleepy towns basking in the sunshine - all a magical part of the journey.
Cambridge really did leave its mark on me. From the mesmerizing performance of "Giselle" to the awe-inspiring beauty of the Botanic Garden, it was a trip filled with wonder, inspiration, and a sprinkle of pink magic! The beauty of it all is a testament to the power of dance and the joy of exploring.
