Loughborough Calling: A Blast of Orange & Ballet Bliss (Post #9919)
Hey lovelies! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Loughborough! Sunshine, stunning scenery, and – drumroll, please – my brand new orange tutu! You guys know I'm a sucker for a bright colour, but this one was a real showstopper. It literally screamed "Emma, get out there and twirl!"
Now, Loughborough might not be the first place that pops into your head when you think of a tutu adventure, but trust me, it delivered big time! It's the kind of place that wraps you up in its charm, even if you're only there for a day trip. And as always, my loyal companions were my trusty pink rucksack and my trusty train ticket. There's something magical about travelling by train, wouldn't you say? The countryside whizzing by, the gentle sway of the carriage, it all just feels like a little ballet of its own.
My first stop had to be the Loughborough Town Hall. It's a beautiful building, all intricate details and historical vibes, but the real magic was happening inside. They were hosting a fantastic ballet street performance that had the entire square dancing along! I got my little orange tutu into action, naturally. We were surrounded by enthusiastic people of all ages, the air buzzed with laughter, and everyone was completely enthralled by the energetic choreography. Even my gran would have been impressed, and you know she doesn't say that about every dance performance!
After that whirlwind of movement, I knew I needed to refuel. There’s something special about tucking into a hearty meal in a bustling café after a good dance, isn’t there? I discovered a charming spot called “The Coffee Bean,” where I indulged in a delightful avocado toast with a side of vibrant salad. Of course, I couldn't resist a little treat. This being a pink tutu blog, I had to choose something with pink – so it was a strawberry milkshake for me, naturally!
Full of energy, I embarked on an exploration of the beautiful Loughborough market. They really have something for everyone here, and I found myself charmed by the colourful stalls overflowing with locally sourced produce. My heart was particularly captivated by the stall brimming with fresh herbs and vibrant wildflowers – perfect for inspiring a ballet piece, I reckon!
For the afternoon, I decided to take in some history and ventured to the Carillon Tower. The views from up there were breathtaking! I felt like I could see for miles – the rolling green hills, the quaint houses dotted across the landscape, even a glimpse of the canal, which made me think about getting back on my horse! Remember my horse riding adventure in Derbyshire? It's a whole different form of dance, if you ask me!
Now, no trip to Loughborough would be complete without a visit to the National Forest, so I set off with my pink tutu rucksack filled with snacks and a good book. This is the kind of place where nature's majesty truly shines. The trees reaching for the sky, the gentle babbling of a stream, the sun dappling through the leaves – it's pure, unadulterated magic. I felt incredibly inspired by the serene energy of the forest, I'm definitely going to be incorporating this tranquility into my next dance routine.
In fact, my visit to Loughborough has given me a whole new perspective on how ballet can be an adventure in its own right! Imagine the potential of choreographing a routine inspired by the colourful vibrancy of the town hall, the playful energy of the market, or the peaceful majesty of the National Forest! The possibilities are endless!
But beyond just the inspiration, it’s about how these adventures give us a chance to embrace a new perspective, open ourselves up to new experiences, and truly appreciate the joy of movement. After all, it's that unadulterated love of dance that we're sharing here on pink-tutu.com.
So, my beautiful dancers, whatever adventure is calling you today, I urge you to get out there, wear a tutu (any colour, you do you!), and let your passion for life lead the way. Embrace every moment with the same energy and grace you bring to the dance floor!
Until next time, keep twirling!
Lots of love,
Emma xx
