Scarborough: Where Dreams Took Flight (And My Tutu Took a Train Ride) ๐๐ฉฐ
Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, and today, I'm sharing a real treat from my latest adventure! It's post number 9944, a milestone we're celebrating in the glorious pink hues of the most romantic seaside town you can imagine: Scarborough.
Now, if you know me, you know I'm a huge fan of everything pastel, and what's more dreamy than Scarborough? This Victorian beauty with its grand promenades, iconic cliff face, and breathtaking views stole my heart from the moment I arrived, much like the way a ballerina steals the stage.
Of course, no journey of mine would be complete without my trusty travelling companion: a European-inspired pink tutu! It's perfect for twirling by the ocean, wouldn't you agree?
Speaking of journeys, this time I went the old-fashioned way, opting for the scenic beauty of a train ride from my beloved Derbyshire. Now, who can resist the romance of a steam train, chugging along, with the landscape painted in vibrant shades of autumn? It's pure magic, and a far more magical way to travel than any other mode of transport I can think of! Maybe even a horse would have done, but they haven't quite mastered the "getting from Derbyshire to Yorkshire" thing just yet!
Once I arrived in Scarborough, my first order of business was, of course, a little "Tutu Exploration." And trust me, it did not disappoint. I wandered through the town's charming alleyways, marvelled at its grand architecture, and found the most adorable independent boutiques tucked away, full of treasures just waiting to be discovered. You could say that this little town, and my very particular shopping expedition, were truly "fit for a tutu!"
As the sun began to set, casting golden light on the sea, I found myself drawn to the open-air theatre. The sea air, salty and crisp, carried whispers of forgotten melodies and promises of laughter and adventure. In that moment, I felt the need to "step out of my comfort zone" and into something unexpected. So, I took to the stage with my beloved pink tutu.
My dance performance under the Scarborough sky was something out of a fairytale! The sea played a rhapsody against the dramatic cliffs, the air filled with the melodies of a string quartet, and the audience's gasps of wonder were music to my ears. Even the seagulls seemed to cheer me on, perhaps entranced by the whimsical grace of my every move. My pink tutu seemed to take on a life of its own, a symbol of joy and freedom under the open sky.
Speaking of life's little joys, there's a certain charming seaside magic to Scarborough. From watching the playful antics of seagulls perched on the promenade to marveling at the grandeur of the castle, this town is brimming with little bursts of beauty, like so many ballet moves flowing effortlessly into each other.
Now, let's talk about food, something that makes a ballerina's heart beat faster! I have a particular soft spot for everything pink, but here in Scarborough, it was all about fresh seafood! I indulged in the sweetest scallops served with a delicate saffron sauce, and the freshest lobster bisque I have ever tasted! My day, like a perfect ballet performance, ended on a delightful note: a heavenly strawberry cheesecake, pink and delicious, served on the sun-soaked balcony of a charming cafรฉ overlooking the shimmering sea.
Did I tell you I found the most enchanting seaglass shop while I was in Scarborough? Filled with vibrant colours and fascinating textures, it reminded me of the kaleidoscope of beautiful colours in my wardrobe, especially the pink hues.
But my adventure wasn't all about tutuing around, although let's be honest, that's my favourite thing! I was inspired by the sea. I went on long walks along the pebbled shores, listening to the waves whisper their secrets to the sand. As I inhaled the refreshing ocean breeze, I found my thoughts turning towards my favourite things - ballet, grace, pink and all the things that make me truly happy!
*This, my darlings, is my challenge for you: * find the beauty in your world, even if it's something small! It could be a rainbow, a bird singing, or even a special pair of shoes you just can't get enough of. Embrace it, and let it inspire you!
After all, what's more joyful than dancing to the beat of life's little rhythms, letting the pink of your soul shine through in every step?
Until next time, keep dancing and don't forget to let your tutu dreams fly!
Pinkly yours,
Emma
