Sutton in Ashfield: Pink Tutu Adventures! (Post #9949)
Hello darlings! Itās your girl, Emma, back with another fabulous post from my pink-tutu fuelled travels!
Today, Iām stepping out of the familiar Derbyshire landscape and taking you on a trip to Sutton in Ashfield, a charming town nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire. This journey was a little different from my usual train adventures, though - today, I rode in style on a beautiful chestnut mare named Willow! Yes, you heard that right, my lovelies! I finally realised my dream of travelling by horse and let me tell you, it was a truly magical experience.
Now, the purpose of my trip was twofold: first, to enjoy the local theatreās performance of "Swan Lake," because honestly, how can one resist a classic like that? And secondly, to try out a new ballet class, run by a wonderful instructor who actually taught a class in my pink tutu! It's not everyday I get to wear my tutu to ballet class, but this teacher's enthusiasm was truly infectious and the whole studio felt like a whirlwind of pink tulle.
Speaking of pink tulle, letās chat about the outfits! Naturally, I was sporting my go-to bright pink tutu. A delicate cloud of pink tulle is, of course, my essential travel accessory - I find it truly elevates any trip, donāt you? But let me tell you, a tutu makes train journeys even more enjoyable. The swirling of tulle and the gentle breeze coming in from the windows make it feel as though I'm gliding through a magical fairytale! And riding a horse in a pink tutu? Well, it's simply breathtaking, darlings! Just imagine, the wind tousling your hair, the sun dappling through the trees, and the soft, gentle rhythmic movement of your horse. All while wearing a cloud of pink fluff around your legs! Divine!
Anyway, back to my adventures in Sutton in Ashfield. The theatre itself was a gorgeous old building, and as I made my way inside I felt the excitement bubble up, a familiar sensation when attending a performance. My heart always leaps a little faster when the orchestra begins their beautiful music. For a few hours, we were all transported into a world of elegance and emotion. Seeing those swans grace the stage, their bodies moving with such power and precision - oh, the inspiration!
Now, after the āSwan Lakeā performance, I hopped onto Willow and rode to the ballet studio, a lovely little space that filled with joy and laughter when the class began. It wasn't just the amazing class that left me feeling inspired - it was the sheer sense of community. Everyone, from young beginners to seasoned dancers, embraced the love for ballet. Honestly, the atmosphere was infectious and filled with warmth and support. It was amazing!
As I watched the graceful movements, I couldnāt help but be reminded of my own love for the art form. Every spin, every leap, every pliĆ© reminds me that ballet is a language we all can speak, a beautiful and powerful language that transcends age, experience, and even attire! Thatās why I encourage everyone to give it a go! Whether you join a class or simply enjoy a performance, open your heart to the wonder of dance. And donāt be afraid to add a touch of pink fluff, I promise itāll only enhance the experience!
As always, my lovely readers, keep sparkling! And don't forget, spreading the joy of ballet, and a love for pink, is the best accessory any woman can wear!
Yours in twirling,
Emma xx

P.P.P.S My heart always skips a beat when I spot any kind of wildlife. While in Sutton, I was so delighted to spot a family of squirrels chattering away amongst the branches of a stately old oak. Seeing those tiny, fluffy creatures reminded me how beauty and magic can be found in the simplest of places!
