Bridgwater Bound: A Tutu Adventure! π
Hello my darling dears! It's your favourite tutu-clad travel blogger, Emma, here! And guess what? Today's adventure takes us all the way to the lovely Bridgwater! (Cue the whimsical music and confetti!). This is post number 9971, folks! Can you believe it? We're getting closer to 10,000! π₯³
I was absolutely itching for a little trip after a week of barre work in the studio. My body was aching, but my spirit was soar-ing! (See what I did there?). So I thought, why not pack my suitcase, grab my favourite pink tutu, and hop on the train to Bridgwater?
Speaking of tutus, darling, today's choice was a stunner! A shimmering pink masterpiece, just a little bit naughty with a daringly high leg split. It's got sequins, it's got layers, and it's definitely got that 'I'm going to own this day' vibe! And what's more, this fabulous little number is brand new, which means, yes you guessed it, you lovely lot are the first to see it!
But enough about the tutu - let's talk about Bridgwater! This charming little town, nestled right there in the Somerset countryside, has captured my heart. It's like stepping back in time with its charming old buildings and cobblestone streets. Oh, and let's not forget about the lovely River Parrett snaking its way through the town. I even saw a little grey heron doing some graceful fishing, just like a dancer poised for her pliΓ©! I bet that heron has fabulous feet, don't you think?
And as for my journey there? Well, it was an absolute dream. A horse-drawn carriage! Talk about fairytale travel! It's been years since I've taken a horse-drawn carriage and I completely forgot how calming and wonderful it is to travel like this! I was so caught up in the moment that I even managed to catch a glimpse of a magnificent family of deer prancing through the trees. A little bit of Bridgwater wildlife for my travel journal. I'm already planning a horse and cart jaunt next weekend, just to catch more of those sweet little deer! π¦
Speaking of deer, this town is a wildlife enthusiast's paradise! I wandered through a little park, soaking up the sunshine, and saw squirrels playing tag in the branches and a flock of happy ducks waddling by a small pond. And I know youβre going to love this, my dears: the park had a lovely old, oak tree in the centre of it, a tree with enough branches to easily fit a hundred ballerinas performing the famous 'Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy'. I literally did a twirl with my imaginary ballerinas underneath it, before heading into a beautiful bookshop on a street brimming with antique charm. I might have purchased another pink tutu and some fluffy pink ballerina slippers too! It wouldn't be a trip without a little bit of retail therapy, would it? ποΈ
You know me, I just canβt resist a performance! This weekend there's a local ballet school showcasing some young talent, and you just know I had to grab a ticket. The auditorium is charming and just the right size to catch every detail of their elegant moves. I was absolutely mesmerised! The dancers, they moved with such grace, their leaps reaching new heights of perfection. I know my face must have been glued to my programme for half the performance as I just couldn't help but scribble down notes. These young dancers have definitely given me an injection of motivation. They are so passionate!
After the performance, I stumbled across this fantastic little cafe on a side street. It was the kind of place that could make you forget you're in the heart of Somerset! They have these adorable pastel-pink cakes - and it's no surprise that the owner loves ballet too! I got to chatting with him, and we both discovered our shared love of pink tutus and the art of classical ballet. The cake was pink of course, but also completely delicious! What can I say? Some things are just meant to be. π§
And with that, my dearest readers, it's time to head home. Bridgwater, you have stolen a piece of my heart. I promise to be back soon! Maybe next time we'll take a leisurely boat ride down the River Parrett. But right now, it's back to the studio to brush up on my leaps, stretches, and pirouettes, with the hopes that, one day soon, we'll be waltzing our way around the cobblestone streets of Bridgwater in our favourite pink tutus. Because a world where everyone dances, a world where everyone wears pink, is a world that makes my heart sing. π
Remember, darling dears, if you are planning a trip to Bridgwater or somewhere further afield, and want to feel a little bit magical, a little bit sassy, then pop on your pinkest tutu and let the adventure begin!
Until next time,
Emma π
