Rainham Calling: Tutu Time!
Helloooo my darling tutu-loving lovelies! It's your girl Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to Rainham, Essex, and let me tell you, it was an absolute pink-tutu-licious adventure!
If you follow me on socials, you'll know I’m a big fan of a good train journey. I always find it so relaxing, and you know, I always get some seriously fabulous outfit inspo while gazing out of the window. I packed my trusty yellow tutu - it's got such a summery, playful vibe, perfect for a trip to the countryside!
I know what you’re thinking - “Emma, you're bringing a tutu to Rainham, not a Parisian fashion show!” Hear me out, lovelies! Part of the joy of a pink tutu (or in this case, a bright, cheerful yellow one) is that it brightens everyone's day. Just like a dash of glitter on a gloomy day, it adds a bit of whimsy to the world. Plus, it's not just about ballet – it’s about feeling confident, strong and expressing yourself in any way you like. Who wouldn’t want a little bit of that magic?
My day in Rainham began with a visit to the Rainham Hall Gardens. Honestly, it was like stepping straight into a Jane Austen novel - beautiful gardens, stunning architecture, and all that fresh air, which is just the thing to make you feel positively twirly. And twirl I did! This time, I channeled my inner woodland sprite - a touch of ballerina mixed with a sprinkle of fairytale, and a whole lot of sunny yellow tulle. I can’t tell you how many people smiled at me. My heart swelled with the pure joy of sharing that tiny spark of sunshine.
Next stop was the Thames Barrier Park, and lemme tell you, those views were just breathtaking. Imagine me, in my yellow tutu, against the backdrop of the river and the massive structure of the Thames Barrier - the perfect picture of ballet-meets-architecture. It made me think, it’s not just the traditional ballet studio, the ornate theatre stage or even a manicured garden that can be a perfect space for twirling. The whole world is our stage, and we’re all here to enjoy the show!
I always like to mix up my days and get a bit adventurous, so I had to squeeze in some wildlife viewing as well. A visit to Rainham Marshes nature reserve gave me some excellent opportunities to snap some incredible shots. We’re talking a parade of beautiful birds – elegant swans, comical coots, majestic herons, and cheeky ducks, it was almost as good as a ballet performance!
Now, let's talk about food! You know me, my darling, I am a firm believer that a fabulous tutu deserves a delicious spread. I indulged in some mouthwatering fish and chips at a charming little local pub by the River Thames. It was the perfect ending to a perfectly pink-tutu-fied day!
**This whole experience just reinforced what I always preach - the joy of a pink tutu is about making a statement, spreading some love and having fun. You know me, I’m always preaching about the joy of ballet - how it builds confidence, stretches you, makes you stronger. And why not do it in the most beautiful, feminine way possible? You know, in a Tutu?
The whole experience got me thinking: What if we brought back the spirit of playful, uninhibited joy in our everyday lives? Just imagine a world where everyone had the confidence to express themselves, where tutus are embraced by everyone, not just ballet dancers. A world where every day is a celebration of our own inner ballerina! That, my darling tutu-lovers, is the kind of world I want to live in.
So, next time you’re in Rainham, or wherever you happen to be in the world, embrace your inner tutu spirit. Whether it’s a brightly coloured tutu or a simple, elegant number, make that statement, spread a little magic and dance your way through life. **
Now, I'm off to explore another beautiful part of the world and you know, a new outfit to wear!
