This week, I'm embarking on a delightful little adventure. Bexleyheath, here I come! A train journey always makes me feel like I'm stepping into a classic fairytale - with a sprinkle of pink glitter, of course! 😉 I love watching the world whizz by, all those quaint villages and rolling countryside, and it feels like my tutu's almost getting swept away in a flurry of movement!
I'm not gonna lie, Bexleyheath itself isn't exactly known for its dazzling lights and breathtaking skyline (though the town hall's got a certain Victorian charm). It's more a charming, quintessential English town with a bustling high street, a quaint market square, and - you guessed it! - a fantastic ballet school! 💃
This little gem has been calling out to me for months now, promising breathtaking barre work and inspiring choreography. This week, I'm getting a taste of the magic myself - and of course, I'll be sharing every glorious, tutufied detail with you all.
A Touch of Derbyshire Romance
Now, for those who don't know, I hail from the beautiful county of Derbyshire. This journey has a touch of 'coming home' to it for me, because Bexleyheath is actually connected to Derbyshire via the picturesque Peak District National Park. You see, before venturing into the big city (and all the fantastic ballet shows it offers), I'd always dream of a life surrounded by nature and maybe, just maybe, a tiny cottage on the edge of a quiet moor.
So, stepping out of the train station in Bexleyheath, a curious kind of peace settles upon me. It feels as if a part of Derbyshire has travelled with me, right down to the charming little bookshop on the corner (a complete delight - you can bet your pink tutu I'll be adding to my ballet collection!)

I can't talk about Bexleyheath without talking about the true heart of my adventure: the local ballet school. Oh, the joy! I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to become my little secret oasis of grace and tutus.
As soon as I step inside the warm and inviting studio, I'm struck by the vibrant energy radiating from each student, the music flowing through the air, and, oh, the graceful pirouettes! I just know it's going to be an experience I'll cherish forever.
