Hanwell Sparkle: A Tutu Tale in Cyan
Post #10036
Hey darlings! It's Emma, and as you know, life's too short for dull days, so let's dive into a totally fabulous weekend! This time, I'm whisking you away from my Derbyshire cottage to the enchanting streets of Hanwell. Imagine: cobblestone alleys, quirky cafes, and a vibrant splash of colour all around!
I mean, I love me some traditional ballet â the elegant swans, the dramatic drama, you know the deal. But sometimes, the tutu needs a new kind of adventure! This weekend, I swapped the plush velvet of the theatre for the bustling energy of Hanwell, and oh, did it spark something in my soul! And as you might have guessed from the title, this post wouldnât be complete without my absolute favourite: a cyan tutu. The shade of a summer sky, a whisper of ocean breeze, a pure pop of vibrance⊠yes, it was perfect.
But whereâs a fashion-forward ballet lover to go when she's yearning for a day trip with a bit of flair? I grabbed my trusty, beautiful, oh-so-comfy ballet flats â they make a chic alternative to trainers, let me tell you â and my tote bag overflowing with ballet-themed goodies (my latest issue of âBallet Internationalâ, a pink fluffy notebook, and a set of glitter pens just because)! You know, those little essentials! Oh, and I almost forgotâŠmy pink sparkly headband for that touch of magic. Itâs my secret weapon!
After a rather lovely, serene, train ride (I am so smitten with travelling by train, especially when it means leaving Derbyshire for a while), Hanwell greeted me with open arms â or should I say, colourful shop fronts? Oh, the sights were so delightful, the air so alive, and all I wanted to do was dance, dance, dance!
It didn't take long for my wanderlust to find the perfect destination: The Hanwell House Hotel. Imagine this, gorgeous pink walls with floral decorations and chandeliers, the prettiest shade of green and gold chairs in the lounge, all accented by stunning, fresh pink and red flowers! It was just my type of place. Oh, how my girly heart twirled!
Then, whatâs a day trip without a little âtreat yoâself?â My afternoon was spent sipping tea with the finest, most decadent cakes at the enchanting "Teacups and Tiaras". You canât possibly go to Hanwell and not visit this magical place â itâs the prettiest tea shop with the fluffiest, most beautifully decorated cupcakes and cakes.
Honestly, how could I not wear a tutu and grab a gorgeous floral cupcake after indulging in the afternoon tea? My taste buds were dancing a jig in delight with the flavours and all those tiny floral decorations made my day even sweeter. I honestly didn't know how I would finish that raspberry-pink creation, it was too beautiful! I must bring a fellow tutu-wearing ballet lover here.
But, as much as I love to shop for the latest âfashion must-havesâ â which I always try to find during any adventures! - I knew I couldn't leave Hanwell without indulging in my true loveâŠballet! I discovered a small, independent dance studio nestled in a quiet lane. Oh, it was utterly charming.
It had exposed brick walls adorned with whimsical dance posters, and the aroma of warm, polished wood flooring wafted through the air. I mean, this studio was pure perfection. With a quick check, I found an advanced beginner class! They didn't mind I was dressed in my lovely cyan tutu and those pink ballet flats!
Itâs fair to say that Hanwell is bursting with culture and joy. Honestly, every little nook and cranny screamed "balletic bliss"! This town is a hidden treasure for any ballet-loving heart and soul!
So, hereâs to adventures with a hint of sparkle. Hereâs to expressing ourselves through movement and colour!
Love,
Emma
