The Train Journey to Upminster
You know me, always opting for the romantic journey! Today's adventure started with a train journey from my beloved Derbyshire. I have to say, the scenery was simply breathtaking! The rolling hills of the English countryside whizzed past my window, their green hues making me think of a perfect ballet costume. I couldn't help but hum "Swan Lake" to myself – there's just something about train journeys that always inspires my inner ballerina.
Upminster: A Little Haven of Ballet Beauty
Arriving at Upminster station, I felt a wave of excitement. I knew there was something magical waiting for me, and I wasn't disappointed. The air was crisp, the sunshine warm, and there was a charming little cafe nestled right next to the station. It was like something straight out of a storybook!
And what was the magical attraction? You guessed it! The Upminster Ballet School! This beautiful building, with its graceful archways and lovely facade, housed the most delightful dance studios. Stepping inside was like walking into a ballerina's dream. The walls were adorned with dance posters, the floors gleamed under the soft lights, and I could feel the magic of dance radiating from every corner.
The best part? I got to attend a ballet class myself! While I'm no prima ballerina (yet! 😉), I loved the energy, the camaraderie, and of course, the glorious twirling. Feeling those muscles working, that familiar elegance of movement, that was sheer joy! I swear, a quick ballet class can instantly make you feel like you can conquer the world.
Upminster's Delightful Surprise
After the invigorating ballet class, I decided to take a stroll through Upminster's charming streets. The streets were bustling with life, with cute boutiques and friendly faces welcoming me along the way. There were bakeries overflowing with fragrant pastries and cafes filled with the delightful chatter of locals.
I couldn't believe what I saw next! Right on the edge of town, overlooking a picturesque pond, was a group of adorable puffins!
Pink Tutu and a Puffin - A Match Made in Heaven?
Now, you might think this is a bizarre combination - a tutu-clad ballerina and a puffing. But believe me, it was an unexpected and hilarious highlight of my day! These fluffy, orange-beaked birds seemed to have migrated to Upminster for a spot of vacation, and I couldn't resist the urge to capture a photo with them. They were utterly adorable, even posing for a few snapshots!
Of course, my bright pink tutu (a vintage beauty with shimmering sequins, just like me) drew a bit of attention. The other onlookers were curious about my outlandish attire, and I loved sharing my ballet story with them.
