Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, and today I'm waltzing my way through the charming streets of Leicester! This vibrant city has been calling my name for ages, and finally, I've answered.
Pink Perfection on the Platform
This trip was all about a lovely train journey – you can't beat the romance of hurtling through the countryside, a glass of prosecco in hand, and the rhythm of the tracks keeping my toes tapping. It reminded me so much of those fairytale train journeys they used to depict in films. I actually wore my pink tutu on the train! Don't worry, I paired it with a sleek, black turtleneck sweater and my favourite leather jacket. It was my little nod to the beautiful ballet performance I was about to see – and you know, sometimes a touch of whimsical flair is all you need to brighten up even the most mundane train journeys. I might have even started a small impromptu ballet performance in the carriage when "La Vie en Rose" started playing, just to keep the magic flowing.
A Dance with the Deerst
Before reaching Leicester, I made a detour to a magical woodland area – a little slice of paradise hidden amidst the rolling Derbyshire hills. Now, you all know how much I love animals, so imagine my joy when I encountered a family of deer! I just stood there, watching them gracefully munch on foliage and bask in the sun, and the whole scene felt so perfectly poetic. I was even able to get some fantastic pictures – perfect for my Instagram feed, obviously! Just a little bit of countryside magic before entering the city.
Leicester Ballet: Oh What a Show!
After that gorgeous woodland escape, it was time to step into the dazzling world of Leicester Ballet! My evening at the theatre was simply unforgettable. This stunning company brought to life a classic story with incredible artistry. From the delicate steps to the heart-wrenching expressions, every movement had me spellbound. I must admit, the pink lighting of the stage perfectly matched my tutu. You know me – I can't help but love a little colour-coordinated style! If you haven't been to a ballet show, put it on your list for a truly unique and beautiful experience. It is magic.
Beyond the Ballet
After the final curtain call, the city still had its magic working. I wandered through Leicester’s beautiful markets – the sights, sounds and scents were overwhelming but captivating – and I bought some fabulous vintage earrings, a real bargain too. I just can’t resist adding to my jewellery collection, and every market in Britain seems to have something beautiful. The atmosphere was alive with the excitement of everyday life, which was so lovely to experience.
I also stumbled across a quirky little shop filled with quirky homeware and gifts – you know, the kind of place you just can't resist going into and wandering for ages, with each little corner full of potential for cute finds! My biggest find was a beautiful pink feather boa that will be the perfect touch for my next costume-themed night out!
Let's Get Tutu-ed Up!
This trip to Leicester has reminded me of the importance of experiencing new things and finding magic in everyday moments. From a woodland dance with deer to the magical ballet performance, Leicester offered a whirlwind of wonders. I encourage you all to try new things too, especially a pink tutu!
