Helloooo my lovelies! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed, wildlife-loving blogger, and guess where I am? Hove, darling! That's right, I'm currently enjoying a seaside jaunt, soaking up the Brighton vibes (and hopefully a bit of sun!) in my favourite pink tutu. It's a vintage beauty, you know, a little stiff around the hips – the way I like it! 😅
I travelled here in style, of course. A glorious train journey from my little corner of Derbyshire. Nothing beats watching the world go by through the carriage window, a steaming mug of tea in hand and a copy of "The Ballerina" in my bag. I mean, honestly, is there a better way to get into the mood for a weekend of dance?
And let me tell you, the seaside here in Hove is absolutely charming. We're staying in a sweet little guesthouse just a stone's throw from the beach. I love the sound of the sea crashing against the shore, and the smell of salty air is so invigorating.
First stop: The Royal Pavilion. 👑
It wouldn't be a trip to Brighton without a visit to this magnificent palace, and honestly, it's even more magnificent than I imagined! All that beautiful Indian-inspired architecture, it just screams "fairytale" and "princess" to me, which is pretty much my style in a nutshell, isn't it?
Of course, I took a million photos - you wouldn't want me to be deprived of some Insta-worthy content, now would you? * Ballet by the beach* 🌊🩰
It wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without some ballet, right? I managed to find the most darling little dance studio in Hove. They have an open class on Friday nights for all levels, which means my ballet-loving self can let loose and twirl around with the locals!
The studio is decorated with floral patterns and cute motivational quotes. You can definitely tell that the staff care so much about dance and have a true love of ballet - the kind of people you know will be there to guide and encourage you whether you're a pro like me or a total beginner!
I'm super excited to join in! And I already have my outfit planned – I'll be wearing a beautiful floral tutu with a pop of pink and, of course, a matching floral head-band. I can't wait! I know the others at the studio will be as happy as I am!
Theatrical Delights and Seagulls 🎭 🦢
This weekend's biggest highlight so far was a wonderful ballet show at the Brighton Theatre Royal. I went with my fellow ballet enthusiast, my darling cousin Chloe. We both have been huge fans of ballet ever since we were kids, twirling in our own living rooms with broomsticks as makeshift barres! It's an enduring passion, we truly believe it’s the ultimate expression of elegance, grace, and storytelling!
Oh, and I must mention the sheer joy of a classic story performed by an amazing cast of dancers. They brought the performance to life, from every graceful pirouette to each dramatic leap. You can imagine Chloe and I were completely spellbound with wide-eyed wonder throughout the whole performance!
We ended our evening in a charming pub with live music, sipping cocktails and laughing. I even caught sight of a few seagulls having a bit of a dance on the beach. You see? Ballet isn't just in the theatre!
My Wish for You 💖
While exploring Hove, it made me reflect on the reason I created my little pink tutu world. I believe that everyone, everywhere should have the chance to enjoy dance in some form, whether it’s professional, amateur, or just wiggling around in the kitchen while waiting for the kettle to boil. So I have a little wish for all of you:
Put on your pink tutu (if you haven't already!) and dance like nobody's watching! 💃

I believe the magic of dance, like the colour pink, can touch everyone's life in its own special way.
