Bath Beauty: Tutu-ing around the City of Romance (Post #10378)
Hey darlings! It's your girl Emma, coming at you live from the stunning city of Bath! Today’s adventure is a double dose of wonder, with the exquisite ballet class at the Bath Theatre Royal followed by a magical stroll around the Roman Baths.
My trip began with the usual pre-ballet excitement – that little flutter of anticipation that sends shivers down your spine as you open your dance bag, knowing those satin shoes are ready to be put through their paces! The journey here was delightful. Of course, a train journey is always an elegant affair – perfect for watching the scenery drift by as you admire your outfit! This time, I opted for a blush-pink tutu, the fabric as light and airy as a morning breeze. It's the perfect balance of whimsical and graceful, don't you think?
Reaching the Theatre Royal, the iconic grandeur of the building took my breath away. Just picture it – those tall Corinthian columns, the stately exterior... it feels like you've stepped back in time. The theatre has seen so many grand performances throughout its history – imagine the tutus twirling across its stage for centuries! And to be there, stepping onto that very stage for class myself, was simply divine.
The teacher, a charismatic dancer with eyes that sparkled like the stars, was an absolute joy. We went through a sequence of plies, tendues, and arabesques, feeling the burn in our legs and the thrill in our hearts as we moved in perfect sync. You know that feeling when you’ve truly pushed yourself, and you can feel the strength blossoming in your muscles? There’s magic in that, especially when it comes to ballet.
Afterwards, I couldn't resist a quick visit to the gorgeous little tea shop nestled in a quiet corner of the city, "The Ballet Blossom Tea Rooms". Think delicate pastel walls, elegant antique chairs, and an intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed tea. Perfect for a cuppa and a slice of Victoria sponge, while discussing the intricacies of a perfectly executed chassé.
Feeling utterly revitalised from class, it was time for a touch of history. My heart skips a beat whenever I hear the word “Roman”, and Bath's famous Roman Baths didn’t disappoint. Wandering around the remains of ancient bathing pools, imagining Romans lounging amidst swirling thermal waters, gave me a peculiar sense of connection with the past. And can you believe it? The Romans used to indulge in ballet!
Honestly, it was incredible! Seeing the Baths illuminated in the afternoon sun made the whole place come alive. Every single detail, from the stone-carved bath tubs to the elaborate Roman sculptures, told stories from a bygone era.
While I can't promise I'll be sporting a pink tutu at the Roman Baths anytime soon, I did find a delightful shop near the Great Bath that had a fabulous collection of ballet-themed jewellery. Of course, I couldn't leave without purchasing a little reminder of this magical trip - a delicate silver ballerina pendant to hang on my necklace, forever reminding me of this perfect day in Bath.
Speaking of my wardrobe... it’s no secret I love a touch of pink! And after my adventures in Bath, I have some very specific styling inspiration in mind. Just imagine: a chic pink midi dress with a wispy white tulle overlay, paired with a bright pink hair ribbon and my trusty ballet flats. That little hint of ballet-inspired elegance, effortlessly adding a whimsical touch to everyday life – it's a dream!
Now, my lovelies, it’s time to close the curtains on this extraordinary day. Bath has enchanted me completely, leaving me filled with an energy and joy that's almost tangible. But before you go, I want to leave you with a little question. Are you feeling inspired by the graceful spirit of ballet? Do you want to try something new and challenging?
Let’s face it, everyone should wear a pink tutu at least once in their life. Don’t worry about fitting in; just let go and let your inner ballerina shine!
Keep spreading the pink tutu love, my lovelies. I’ll be back tomorrow with more tutu adventures!
Much love,
Emma xoxo
