Crosby Calling: Feathers, Pink & A Tutu Adventure!

#TutuBlog - Post 10452 - 2025-02-13

Oh, my darlings! Today is all about feathers, pink and, of course, tutus! After a lovely trip to see the Nutcracker in Buxton last week, I'm off on another little adventure. This time, my trusty train ticket has whisked me to the charming seaside town of Crosby, a little corner of Lancashire I’ve always wanted to explore.

My travel ensemble? Why, a bold blush-pink tulle tutu, naturally! But not just any tutu, mind you! This one’s embellished with the most exquisite feather trim, shimmering with iridescent hues that match the gorgeous sunset colours swirling over the Irish Sea. Feeling a little bit princess, a little bit bird, and totally, utterly fabulous!

Crosby is the home of the beautiful Antony Gormley statues dotted along the beach, and what a spectacle it is! I can't believe I've never visited before! Seeing these striking figures stand proud against the crashing waves - it's like a magical ballet scene come to life! It just proves that inspiration can strike anywhere!

After a little picnic on the beach (don't you worry, a picnic fit for a ballerina: strawberries, miniature pastries and a bottle of pink fizz, obviously!), I felt an urge to move. My muscles were just twitching with the desire to dance, so I ventured down to the promenade to see if there were any outdoor spaces that would allow a little Tutu-tastic improvisation! Luckily, a local group of dancers had set up a lovely space for their class. You guessed it! They were open to letting me join them for a quick warm-up, which is exactly what this ballerina needs before hitting the shops!

Let me tell you, my lovelies, I discovered a true hidden gem today. This quaint seaside town boasts a plethora of delightful boutiques, all overflowing with pink treasures and vintage finds. And naturally, I made sure to pick up some delicate pink feather headbands to complete my look - it’s all about those little touches!

One of my favorite finds? A gorgeous antique carousel horse brooch for my tote bag! Its painted details are intricate and enchanting, reminding me of all those fairytales I loved as a little girl. Honestly, this brooch is screaming “Take me on a fairytale adventure!” and you know what? I think I just might.

After an evening filled with pink cocktails and laughter in a delightful tea room, my adventures in Crosby are coming to a close. This delightful little town has definitely captured a piece of my heart with its quaint charm and picturesque views. You know me – I love a good beachside stroll in the sunshine, a seaside sunset, and a town full of colourful, artistic gems, but also one that remembers the importance of embracing the arts – and I'm thrilled that Crosby has delivered on all those counts!

If you're ever looking for a charming getaway that's not too far from home (I’m a Derbyshire girl, after all), Crosby is a definite must-visit. It’s full of friendly locals, charming little shops, a stunning seaside landscape, and, let's face it, a fantastic place for rocking a feather-tutu with confidence!

Stay tuned, my lovely lot. My ballet shoes are ready, and I can’t wait to share more adventures and dance explorations with you in the future!

Until next time, remember:

Pink tutus, feathered dreams, and don’t be afraid to pirouette your way through life!

Love,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com

P.S. If you haven't yet discovered the wonders of a pink tutu, don't worry, darling! I'm working on my 'Pink Tutu for Everyone' campaign. It's all about inspiring others to embrace their inner ballerina, embrace a touch of whimsy, and dance their hearts out – whether it's on a stage or just in your living room! More on that coming soon…
