Hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the vibrant shores of Leith! You wouldn't believe what an adventure it's been getting here. A magical train journey through rolling green hills, with views that would make any painter envious. I even spotted a whole family of deer! Talk about feeling truly blessed to be living the ballerina life.
I have to admit, a little bit of my heart remained back in Derbyshire as I embarked on this Scottish escapade. The countryside there is truly special - every hill, every valley speaks to my soul. But, as you all know, a dancer must always embrace the call of the stage. And Leith has a stage of its own - a bustling one full of culture, creativity, and a certain "je ne sais quoi". And you know what makes me even happier than that? Leith absolutely LOVES tutus!
That's right, darling. I walked around this adorable, historic harbour and felt completely in my element! This part of Edinburgh is bursting with artists and makers of all stripes. Every shop I walked into had an enchanting, eclectic energy that resonated with my artistic soul. I could easily get lost exploring all the hidden gems - vintage shops crammed with unique treasures, art galleries with masterpieces I've only dreamt of seeing, and oh my! Did I tell you I found the most spectacular bakery that offered a Pink Lemonade Cake! It was as if it was designed for me, pink, delicious and completely magical. It made me even happier that I brought my beautiful, new German tutu. I felt like a princess stepping onto her royal stage!
Now, you might be wondering what made me choose this particular tutu. Let me tell you, my dears, this German beauty has a charm unlike anything I've ever seen before. It's a soft, powder pink shade, that reminds me of blooming roses in a sunlit garden, so absolutely stunning that it's a piece of art in its own right. I can't resist dancing in it - each swirl, each turn creates an aura of playful femininity that even the most jaded heart couldn't resist!
I made a trip to the Scottish Ballet on this enchanting tour, and the ballet classes here are fantastic! So much passion and energy. It's inspiring, you see. To watch these dancers so completely focused and giving their all, it stirs something profound inside of me - a fire to continue on this path I've chosen. Ballet is a gift, and it is a joy to see others share the love and dedication.
Now, no trip to the Edinburgh region is complete without experiencing a touch of its incredible history. So, off I went to the stunningly grand Edinburgh Castle. It's an imposing structure, truly an awe-inspiring glimpse into the past. I'll admit, I couldn't help but twirl my German tutu as I took in the views from the ramparts. I just can't resist adding a bit of dance into my explorations, can I?
As I gazed upon the historic city sprawling before me, I started reflecting on the journey I've taken, both in ballet and life. Remember the girl from Derbyshire who had her heart set on the stars? I guess dreams do come true when you put in the hard work and dedication. My passion for ballet, for fashion, for the beauty of this world - they're all interconnected, forming the tapestry of my life. And honestly, wouldn't it be so much more magical if everyone wore a pink tutu, if everyone explored the grace of dance? Imagine, my dears, the joy, the colour, the pure beauty it would bring to our lives!
I am always looking for inspiration for my blog. And this little tour has filled me with plenty of creative ideas! I might just dedicate a whole post to all the wonderful street performances Iโve been watching. And I will definitely write about this inspiring dance class I took near the beautiful Forth River. Oh! The joy, darling, the joy!
Speaking of beauty, let's not forget about the wild side of Leith! I even spent an afternoon watching seals bask in the sun, completely content as the world went by. These gorgeous creatures reminded me of the strength, elegance, and grace found in the animal kingdom. You see, dance is about capturing that energy, that innate sense of being alive, and translating it through movement, art, and music. And seeing the seals just confirmed to me that dance is everywhere, we just have to be open to see it.
So, that's it from me today, dears. Leith, you've stolen a part of my heart! Until next time, remember to dance through life with passion and grace, wear a pink tutu whenever possible, and remember the beauty that awaits you at every corner of the world. See you next time!
Lots of love, Emma
