Hello, my lovely tutu-tastic readers! It's Emma, your pink-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger, back with another installment from my travels. Today, I'm stepping out of the studio and onto the cobbled streets of Welling, a charming town nestled in the heart of Kent. And what better way to explore than in my favourite pink tulle, of course!
Tutu-tastic Transportation
Now, getting here was an adventure in itself. I traded my usual ballet slippers for riding boots and hopped on a glorious red double-decker bus. Honestly, it felt like I was starring in a vintage travel poster, and the views from the top deck were simply stunning. But once in Welling, I swapped the bus for a far more elegant mode of transport...a horse-drawn carriage! It truly felt like a fairy tale come to life. The horses were beautifully dappled, the carriage was adorned with floral wreaths, and I was practically glowing with girly delight.
Welling's Ballet Bliss
My mission in Welling? To seek out all things ballet, naturally. And let me tell you, this charming town has a real hidden gem - the "Welling School of Dance." From the outside, it's a quaint building, all white paint and rose bushes. But step inside, and you're transported into a world of pink-hued barres, mirrored walls reflecting leaping dancers, and a sweet scent of polished wooden floors. They had a class open to the public, and I just couldn't resist!
Donning my trusty tutu (naturally, pink!) I joined in the fun with a group of enthusiastic beginners. Let me tell you, ballet in a small town setting is an experience. There's a lovely camaraderie, a sense of pure joy in the movement. And the instructors? Just as enthusiastic! They were so encouraging and helped me feel comfortable, even with my slightly rusty technique. I even picked up a few tips to try out in my Derbyshire studio later.
Pink Power in the Pub
After a ballet class fuelled by sheer joy and a few (healthy) raspberry and elderflower smoothies, we had to visit the "Jolly Hog" pub - Welling's oldest and most charming! We were treated to a delightful lunch of fish and chips and apple pie, a truly delicious taste of local cuisine. It wouldn't be a "Emma on the Road" blog post without a splash of pink, so I accessorised my lunch with a vibrant pink bow! It brought a touch of ballerina flair to the traditional pub setting and sparked some lively conversations about all things ballet, of course.
Wild & Wonderful
Welling may be a charming town, but just outside, nature beckons! A quick trip to the beautiful Danson Park provided a beautiful contrast to the cobblestone streets and traditional architecture of the town. The vibrant spring blooms and graceful willows reflecting in the lake made me feel truly transported. The best part? We saw a beautiful family of ducks waddling through the park! You see, I'm a wildlife enthusiast at heart, and seeing nature at its most peaceful brings me such a sense of calm and wonder.
Sharing the Pink Tutu Love
Well, my darlings, that's Welling wrapped up in a pink ribbon! As always, it's been a wonderful journey. A vibrant ballet studio, a horse-drawn carriage, charming pubs, and a dash of wildlife - all tied together with the magic of pink tutus and a whole lot of love for the art of dance. I know it might seem a little bold to wear a tutu everywhere I go, but trust me, the joy and the sparkle it brings are worth it! Remember, you can wear your own tutu wherever you go, even if it's just a colourful scarf or a splash of bright pink lipstick!
Remember, you can follow along with all my pink adventures over on www.pink-tutu.com. And please, do share your own "tutu-tastic" adventures with me! I can't wait to hear what you've been up to!
Until next time, keep your twirls high and your hearts full of pink!
With love and twirls,
Emma
