#TutuBlog 10494
Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-twirling blogger, Emma, here! ☀️💖 I’m back from a fabulous weekend jaunt to the seaside, and oh my goodness, you guys are going to LOVE this post. Buckle up, buttercup!
I always feel like a little girl when I go to the seaside, which makes sense, as my seaside memories involve building sandcastles with my grandma and having my dad carry me around because I couldn’t manage the ice cream cone (cue a huge lick to the face – awww, happy memories!). I know this post is number 10494, but let’s be honest, you can never have too many happy memories, right?
And you just know that this weekend's adventure was brimming with seaside delight and a whole lot of tutu-ific goodness.
Train travel is truly the most magical way to go! I love a good carriage journey and the views from the windows just made this trip even more special. The sun was streaming in, dappling my perfectly-pink pleated skirt and oh, the sound of the tracks as we raced along! A perfect day for a dreamy, ballerina-esque journey, don’t you think?
As we got closer to Cleethorpes, I started to get a little fluttery in my tutu! You know that feeling, that excitement that comes with arriving in a new place. It’s why I love to travel – the sheer anticipation and the promise of adventure. Plus, it’s a good excuse to wear a new outfit! 😉
Now, onto Cleethorpes itself! A delightful little seaside town with quaint shops, pretty houses, and a bustling seafront. The air smelled fresh and salty, the kind of air that instantly makes you feel relaxed and happy.
We stopped at the famous Cleethorpes Pier, its pastel colours a wonderful clash against the blue sky. You’d think with the gorgeous weather and the views across the sea, I wouldn’t stop dancing. Of course, you’d be right! 😉 I pranced about the pier, twirling in my extra-wide tutu, laughing as the sea breeze tugged at my skirt and sent my curls flying. If you can’t be a ballerina on the pier, where can you?
We spent the afternoon enjoying the local seaside fare, from freshly-caught fish and chips to luscious ice cream cones, every bite a little slice of summer paradise! It just felt right to soak up the vibrant atmosphere, watching children shriek with joy on the beach and seagulls screeching in the air.
The next morning we took a walk along the promenade with the salty air whipping through my hair. It felt exhilarating to be surrounded by the natural world – watching seabirds flit between the waves and feeling the energy of the tide. My heart always swells with love for wildlife, so watching the dolphins jumping in the distance made me giddy. They’re like underwater ballerinas, leaping and twirling with effortless grace! 💖
You know I couldn't leave Cleethorpes without trying a little ballet on the beach, right? After all, it's the perfect backdrop for some graceful pirouettes! I stretched my legs, feeling the sand between my toes as I imagined myself gliding through the waves. This wasn't quite the same as my usual classes at Derbyshire Dance Academy, but you can’t have all your lessons in a dance studio! I think there was a rather surprised looking dog walker watching me from the edge of the shore but let's just chalk that down to his love of the art of ballet! 😊
In the afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely picnic under the blue skies, with the sun dappling our sandwiches with gold. We were sat beside a group of musicians who were having a lovely jam session, playing folk tunes that wafted on the breeze, making it feel truly special. It felt almost magical - like stepping into a painting of the perfect summer’s day.
We rounded off our weekend with a visit to The Cleethorpes Theatre! Oh, it was absolutely fantastic! This magnificent theatre hosted a live performance of “Swan Lake”, a breathtakingly beautiful ballet production that took my breath away. My eyes were glued to the dancers’ elegant movements as they brought the classic story to life. Watching it on stage brought tears to my eyes; I have loved Swan Lake since I was a child and still love to perform the Swan Lake pas de deux! Maybe I’ll post a little video later on!
Cleethorpes left me feeling truly refreshed, my spirit lifted and my imagination sparkling with inspiration. I know I have a million stories to tell after a weekend like that, and the memories of twirling by the sea, the scent of salt on the air, and the joy of dancing under a sunny sky will be cherished forever.
I’m already planning my next seaside adventure – maybe somewhere more dramatic, perhaps with cliffs and dramatic waves! Where do you think I should go next? Give me your best ideas for my next Tutu Trip!
Until then, keep on twirling, keep on smiling and don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com daily!
Love,
Emma 💖✨
