Oh, Llanelli, you've stolen my heart! π This Welsh seaside town has such a charm about it, it's like a beautiful pastel dream. I'm here for the week, you see, as I'm dancing with the Welsh National Ballet at their gorgeous theatre - more about that later! - and I have to say, it's just the tonic for a girl who's been spending too much time on the Derbyshire moors.
But let's rewind a little, shall we? The journey down here was truly delightful. You all know I adore a good train ride, and this one was extra special. The carriages were gleaming and comfy, with comfy seats perfect for a girl to practice her elegant stretches - much to the amusement of my fellow travellers! I even caught a glimpse of a majestic pheasant strutting its stuff on the way - talk about elegant, those fellas! πͺΆ
Upon arriving at the charming Llanelli railway station, I felt a wave of excitement wash over me. It was time to unleash my inner ballerina in this exciting new place! First order of business - finding the perfect outfit! You know me, pink is my colour of choice - and what's more perfect for exploring a seaside town than a whimsical, oh-so-lovely floral printed maxi-skirt with a splash of coral pink and a pair of sparkling sandals? It matched my polka-dot pink straw hat perfectly, naturally! π
And as a special treat, I decided to wear a new tutu that I just picked up in a boutique in Germany, on my way through. It's absolutely stunning. You all know I have a thing for tutus. You can never have too many. But this one, dear readers, is just breathtaking. A pale peachy pink, itβs made with silk tulle, and it moves with such a graceful sway - like a ballet of its own!
Once dressed to impress, I set out to explore Llanelli, and what an enchanting experience it was. This place is buzzing with life! The streets are lined with quaint little shops filled with delightful treasures. The smell of fresh salt air from the coast and the gentle lapping of the waves on the shore were the perfect symphony for a blissful day.
Of course, my ballet adventures in Llanelli wouldnβt be complete without a little ballet practice! You can always find me at the local studio, getting my graceful moves on, trying to learn new techniques. My teachers have been so lovely and encouraging, and I've even picked up a few new steps to showcase on the stage this week. π There's just something about the energy of a dance studio, itβs like a space where creativity can bloom!
One afternoon, I ventured out to a delightful local tea shop. Can you imagine a tea room decorated in shades of lavender and seafoam green? It was truly divine. And guess what I ordered? Pink lemonade, of course! Sweet and refreshing, just like me!
But Llanelli has more than just charm and sweetness! I've been mesmerized by the captivating scenery. The long, sandy beaches with the wind whipping through the air β they feel almost magical. I could just sit on the shore and watch the sun set into the horizon, getting lost in the mesmerizing colours of the sky. The natural world holds a special place in my heart - so naturally, I spent a day at the beautiful Llanelli Wetland Centre, exploring its breathtaking biodiversity. The graceful swans swimming in the tranquil lake, the delicate water lilies reflecting the sunlight, the cute little ducks β theyβre like miniature ballerinas in their own natural world! It was pure joy and made my heart swell with awe at the wonders of nature. π¦’π¦π
And now, I must confess a secret... my main reason for coming to Llanelli was the exciting ballet performance this week. This little coastal town is bursting with passion for ballet, and I feel the excitement every time I walk into the theatre, ready to share my passion for dance with everyone who'll come to see me! The Welsh National Ballet have the most fabulous choreography β all the passion and skill of ballet that Iβve always admired. And you won't believe the costumes β just imagine flowing skirts in hues of vibrant pink and emerald green! I feel a twinge of stage fright but mostly excited, as always, for the beautiful art of storytelling through movement that is the magic of ballet!
I'll tell you all about the performance next week, and, as always, Iβm going to leave you with a little inspiration: remember that everyone has a little ballerina within, you just need to find that spark and let it shine. Put on that pink tutu, put on some music, and twirl your way to happiness! And of course, always feel free to leave me a comment - I love hearing from you!
With love and a graceful twirl,
