Crosby Calling! 🩰 Pink Tutu Adventures #10710

Hey my darlings!

It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, bringing you another instalment of adventures from the world of ballet and fashion. Today, I'm whisking you away to the charming coastal town of Crosby, a place that has stolen my heart and sent my sartorial spirit soaring!

Remember how I’ve been saying that my life’s goal is to make the world a pink tutu-wearing utopia? Well, today, Crosby proved that it's already on its way!

After a delightful train journey - did I tell you about my new travelling companion, a miniature greyhound named Biscuit? - I arrived in Crosby, ready to explore and let my pink tutu be a beacon of joy in this delightful town.

The sun was shining, the sea breeze carried the scent of salt and freedom, and the air was alive with the chirping of seagulls - Crosby truly was a picture of picturesque tranquility. As I stepped out onto the promenade, my eyes immediately landed upon something that truly stole my breath away: the most incredible public art installation, right on the beach.

It was the famous “Another Place” by Antony Gormley – an array of over 100 cast iron figures, some standing proudly upright, others partially submerged in the sea, each facing out towards the horizon. Seeing these figures, these silent sentinels of the beach, left me speechless.

Now, what does all of this have to do with a pink tutu, you might ask? Well, my dears, let me tell you, these installations are all about embracing life's beauty, its changing nature, its mystery – all qualities that ballet celebrates too!

So, there I was, my pink tutu swirling in the salty air, twirling beneath the sky with the statues watching.

Oh, the memories! I took photos, danced with the figures, feeling the wind in my hair and the sand between my toes – a true immersion in both the beauty of nature and the expressive power of dance.

Beyond the beach, Crosby has so much to offer. I couldn’t resist visiting the historic Crosby Hall, a place that literally transported me to a bygone era. I can only imagine the stories these walls have to tell, the dances they’ve witnessed.

Later, I took a detour into a charming little vintage shop, its shelves overflowing with treasures just begging to be loved. My eye was drawn to a sparkly feather boa in a shade of blush pink – the perfect accessory for a tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast!

And then, for a little afternoon pick-me-up, I discovered the most adorable tea shop. Afternoon tea with scones and jam is, after all, the ultimate ballet girl's fuel! (Did you know my mum makes the best jam? She calls it “Emma's jam” - maybe I'll tell you about it another day! ).

Later that day, as the sun dipped below the horizon, I joined a local ballet class in a charming little dance studio above a vintage bookshop. The dancers, young and old, all embraced ballet with enthusiasm and joy. I was quickly swept up in their shared passion. We practiced turns, leaps, and stretches, the space alive with the music of Tchaikovsky. I felt truly connected to something beautiful, something profound, something deeply fulfilling – all in that moment, surrounded by those lovely, passionate souls, my heart was filled with the joy of dance.

Oh, and my fellow ballet lovers, if you ever find yourself in Crosby, do yourself a favor and seek out the local wildlife sanctuary. They have the cutest seals - those creatures remind me so much of ballerinas in their grace and their way of balancing on those little flippers. I was captivated!

As the day faded into evening, I knew it was time to say farewell to Crosby, a place that has left an indelible mark on my pink tutu journey. It has been a reminder that beauty, joy, and a love of dance can be found in every corner of the world - even in the heart of a charming little coastal town like Crosby.

So, my dears, my fellow pink tutu devotees, don't be afraid to take a leap of faith, to embrace adventure, to discover the world through your own eyes. Who knows where a pink tutu might take you?
