#TutuBlog Post #10752 - 10th December 2025
Hello lovelies! π
It's Emma here, and today, I'm taking you on a pink-tastic adventure to the seaside town of Cleethorpes! As I always say, "Life's too short for boring outfits" and what better way to brighten up a dreary December day than with a dash of sparkle and a whole lot of pink? π¦©
Now, you might be wondering why Cleethorpes? Well, you see, my dear readers, this little coastal gem has a special place in my heart. It was where I took my very first ballet class at the tender age of five! I remember it vividly: a small, sunlit room overlooking the North Sea, the salty air swirling through the window, and the feeling of pure joy as I pirouetted to the sound of Tchaikovsky. π₯°
As luck would have it, a renowned ballet company is staging "The Nutcracker" this week at the Cleethorpes Theatre - it just felt like fate! ππ
Naturally, I had to don my signature red tutu (it's so festive, right?) and hop on a train to Cleethorpes. The journey itself was a delightful experience β nothing beats a relaxing train ride to get your creative juices flowing! Especially when you can gaze out of the window at the quaint English countryside, picturing all the magical stories the landscape holds. π
But before the ballet, there was a treat in store for this pink princess! A horse-drawn carriage ride along the seafront! Yes, you heard that right, horse-drawn carriages still exist, and in Cleethorpes, they add a touch of old-world charm to this charming town. π
Picture it: the crisp winter air whipping through my hair as I glided along the cobbled streets, my red tutu billowing behind me. I felt like a princess straight out of a fairy tale! β¨
The carriages are owned by a local couple who, believe it or not, breed a special kind of pink-feathered miniature horses! They allowed me to meet the foals, which were utterly adorable - they actually seemed to be fans of tutus too! π We even managed to snap some adorable pictures. (Don't worry, I'll be posting those on my Instagram later, follow @pink_tutu for more!)
Then, it was on to the grand event of the day - "The Nutcracker!" π©° The theatre, adorned with festive decorations and twinkling lights, was brimming with excited children, their eyes wide with wonder. The performance itself was simply stunning!
The ballerina playing Clara was a captivating talent. Her grace, her leaps, her pirouettes β it was like watching a beautiful dream unfold! It was a testament to the power of art and passion to transport audiences to a different world. π«
And oh, the music! It soared, it whispered, it danced in harmony with the ballet β an emotional masterpiece that left me in awe. Even my fellow ballet dancers, who are admittedly some of the toughest critics, were enthralled by the performance.
But you know me, I can't let a trip pass without a little pink inspiration. You might have spotted my special #PinkTutu challenge in my last post! I encourage you to grab a pink tutu β any colour of pink will do, but a little glitz never hurts β and visit a local theatre this season! Embrace your inner child and discover the joy of live performances. Don't be shy, wear your tutu with pride! π
If you donβt have access to a ballet performance, I'd love to see you try your hand at ballet in the comfort of your own home. Grab a few pink-hued items around the house - a pillow, a scarf, maybe even your own special tutu - and practice a few basic moves! Don't worry if you haven't danced a day in your life. Ballet is all about fun, expression, and finding your inner ballerina. π
And speaking of inspiration, Cleethorpes offered me some in the form of wildlife! The coastline is home to a vast array of migratory birds who find shelter and rest on their journeys. I saw flocks of seagulls gracefully dancing on the wind, a lone heron patiently stalking fish by the harbour, and even a group of seals playfully bobbing their heads in the sea. π§π¦’
All in all, this pink princess had a splendid day. Cleethorpes has rekindled my love for ballet, reinforced my belief in the magic of simple joys, and reminded me that sometimes, all you need is a bit of pink sparkle and a tutu to light up your world. β¨
Keep your tutus close,
Emma. π
