Hello lovely lot! It's your girl Emma, back with another installment of your daily dose of pink, tutus and, of course, ballet! Today's blog post is extra special because we're diving headfirst into a day trip to the charming town of Hanwell - all the way from Derbyshire, mind you! Now, I know what you're thinking: "Emma, why Hanwell?" Well, my dears, it's a journey of adventure, a tale of tutu-clad triumph, and a sprinkle of pink magic! ๐โจ (Remember, you can always find my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com)
This is blog post #10810!
Tutu Travel & a Touch of Pink
We left our Derbyshire home bright and early, packed with my pink essentials (my lucky ballet bag, my new hot pink ballerina tutu and a picnic blanket covered in ballet swans) ready for our train journey! Trains, by the way, are definitely my preferred mode of transport - all that space to stretch my legs, a nice book, and the opportunity to indulge in a cheeky cuppa and scone (always with lashings of jam, obviously!).
I've got to admit - there's nothing quite like settling into a carriage window, the sun glinting on passing landscapes, while rocking my pink ballet-inspired outfit! It's a little slice of ballet heaven on wheels!
Upon arriving in Hanwell I knew it was a town designed for a pink tutu adventure! I mean, come on, the quaint cafes, the sun-drenched park, the historic market square - it's like a set straight out of a fairytale.
Pink-Tutu Fun in Hanwell
First things first - I needed my daily dose of ballet. A lovely local studio had a drop-in ballet class (who knew! )! They were super welcoming ( a bonus in my book), and the class was an absolute joy! The instructor was a bubbly character, just as excited about tutus and twirls as I am. She even gave me some brilliant tips on how to incorporate some of ballet's elegant movements into my everyday life - even for those non-dancer moments like grabbing groceries or taking a stroll!
And, of course, no trip to a new town is complete without a proper explore. So, with my ballet-inspired pink tutu whirling with each step, I set off on a walkabout! I fell in love with Hanwell all over again as I strolled past adorable boutique shops, indulged in a delicious ice cream, and discovered hidden art galleries with ballet exhibitions - what luck, right?!
But here's the best part - Hanwell was hosting a festival of arts and culture! Talk about divine timing. It felt like I stumbled onto a mini version of a fairy-tale ballet celebration. The park was filled with colourful performers, vibrant street art, and even a live string quartet! It was pure delightful chaos - the kind of creative whirlwind I love. The music filled the air as I tutti twirled my way through the festivities!
Making Hanwell my own Ballet Wonderland
I made friends with a couple of friendly artists who showed me some stunning work inspired by ballet. It turns out the town has a strong connection with ballet. One of the artists was a retired dancer and he even taught me a few moves! It was amazing! It truly highlighted just how magical ballet is, how it can connect us all and spark joy no matter what!
The day wasn't over yet though, I had one more adventure planned - a horse ride! Now, I may be a tutu girl at heart, but there's something about galloping through fields that fills me with a wild sense of joy - and Hanwell has a charming horse riding centre right on the edge of the town. Imagine: pink tutu, sun on my face, wind through my hair and the sound of hooves against the ground... it was pure magic!
The Pink Tutu Appeal
My day in Hanwell ended with a lovely sunset stroll, the air tinged with the aroma of baking bread and flowers. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day filled with ballet bliss and pink joy.
As I reflect on the journey back to Derbyshire, it dawned on me how many people commented on my pink tutu. Some were afraid, some curious, but most were charmed. Each comment filled me with the desire to share this love of ballet, this pink magic with the world. And that's exactly what I'll do - keep sharing stories of ballet adventures, keep encouraging you to embrace your inner twirl and most importantly, keep encouraging you to wear a pink tutu. It's about embrace joy, embracing movement and most importantly, embracing yourself.
Until next time, my dears. Stay sparkly and remember, the world needs more pink tutus!
Lots of Love, Emma ๐๐ฉฐ
