Morning, darlings!
It's Emma here, your favourite pink-loving tutu-trotter, back with another adventure from my whirlwind world! Today I'm buzzing after a trip to the wonderfully charming Highbury - it's been a day full of ballet bliss and delightful discoveries!
Now, I know what you're thinking: "Emma, how did you get to Highbury? Train or horse?". Well, the answer is, darling, BOTH!
I kicked things off with a glorious, sun-drenched gallop across the Derbyshire countryside - my trusty steed, Jasper, truly is a star. The wind in my hair and the countryside whizzing by... it was practically a scene straight out of a Jane Austen novel, except instead of a long flowing dress I was rocking a chic, blush-pink tutu. (Okay, okay, a little too modern for Jane's time period but, hey, a girl's gotta stay true to her style!).
After reaching the station, I hopped on a charming little train. Honestly, who needs flying first class when you can snuggle up in a comfy carriage with a book and a cup of tea? It's so much more romantic! And while I adore being on the move, I really savoured the views of the countryside changing to London's bustling streets - the sheer vibrancy just sparks inspiration!
And let me tell you, Highbury certainly didn't disappoint!
First on the agenda: a delicious afternoon tea at The Highbury Cafe - the quintessential English tea room experience! All the fancy sandwiches, cakes, and a pot of tea so hot, it practically brewed itself! The lovely ladies who run the cafe even complimented my tutu, which I always love to hear! You know it's true, when a classic piece gets the seal of approval from seasoned locals, it really takes your look to the next level!
But let's be real, the true purpose of my visit was to experience the magic of Highbury Theatre. They've got a renowned ballet company and today I saw "Giselle" - an absolute masterpiece! The dancers were captivating, each graceful movement expressing the story with such power and emotion.
There's nothing quite like the raw talent of a ballerina captivating the audience! It makes me feel alive and reminds me of the magic ballet holds. To be able to express stories with your body, with the support of your fellow dancers, is a gift. There's just a certain artistry, a certain elegance and power in ballet, that leaves you breathless!
And you know me, darling! After that beautiful performance, I HAD to find myself a cute little shop that sold tutus. You can't just see all that twirling and beauty and NOT be inspired, right?! After a quick detour, I found myself in a delightful little store overflowing with sparkly tutus! The sheer variety made me squeal with delight! You have to be in love with life to wear a pink tutu in public!
I found myself trying on a glorious lavender tutu that had just the right amount of tulle and glitz. I felt like a true ballet fairy! It's my newest prized possession. It's now hanging up with all my other tutus and my plan is to wear it on the Tube, because let's face it, who says a ballerina can't ride the Tube?!
This entire day felt like a story straight out of a fairy tale - or maybe just a charming movie! It really is about having those simple moments that make life feel beautiful. Whether it's catching the sunrise with Jasper, enjoying a warm cup of tea while watching the world go by, or simply twirling around in a delightful tutu.
Oh, and the best part of all?
Today, in Highbury, a little girl pointed at my pink tutu, smiled, and said, "You look like a princess!" And I knew right then that my mission to spread the love for pink and ballet is a success, one step at a time, one tutu at a time.
Let's inspire everyone to twirl, my lovelies!
Sending love and twirls from a very pink and very happy Emma,
