Hey lovely lot! It's your girl Emma here, bringing you another burst of pink from my tutu-filled life!
This morning, I woke up feeling positively radiant, ready to embrace the day in all its glorious pinkness. As usual, the sun streamed through my window, illuminating my array of tutus โ oh, they're practically calling out to be worn! I decided today was a cyan kind of day. A bit unexpected, but a bold and beautiful choice! It just makes you want to dance, doesn't it?
Anyway, enough about my own delightful wardrobe for now (though you know I could talk about tutus forever!), today was about adventure. The city was calling, specifically Coulsdon, where the National Ballet is showcasing their stunning production of 'Giselle' โ and of course, I couldn't miss it!
Now, when I say 'adventure', I don't mean some crazy escapade with a white-knuckle ride and a wild-eyed quest. No, for me, the adventure comes in the form of train travel. And when I say train, I mean a proper steam train. Honestly, there's nothing quite like the clink and clank of a vintage train carriage as you chug through the countryside. It just puts you in a different mood โ a relaxed, joyful mood. Plus, who doesn't love a good window view of the English countryside, especially when wearing a fabulous tutu?!
You see, a big part of my mission here is to encourage everyone to see the magic of life, even in the seemingly ordinary. A train ride is just another opportunity to twirl, to embrace the sunshine, and to feel the gentle breeze whisper secrets of excitement.
Anyway, as the steam train meandered through fields dotted with horses (yes, another passion!), I took my chance to do what I do best: spread a bit of Tutu-tiful magic. Imagine, the rolling hills, the open sky, and me, a pink whirlwind in my cyan tutu, captivating the hearts and minds of the fellow passengers! A little smile here, a delighted giggle there, the entire train became a beacon of joy and pink-tinted bliss. I even managed to rope in a group of children for a quick impromptu tutu dance! Let me tell you, they were thrilled. It just shows, you're never too young to discover the magic of a twirl!
Coulsdon itself is a charming town, oozing history and Victorian architecture. It's the perfect setting for an afternoon dedicated to ballet! As I stepped into the theatre, I was swept up in a wave of excitement โ the anticipation was palpable, and everyone was buzzing. From the hushed whispers to the gentle clicks of shoes on the carpet, even the air seemed to crackle with energy!
The 'Giselle' production was absolutely breathtaking, a stunning symphony of movement, passion, and heart. It brought tears to my eyes (don't tell anyone!), a reminder that ballet can truly transport us to another world, filled with beauty and raw emotion. It made me want to lace up my pointe shoes, dust off my tutu, and take centre stage myself.
And that's what I'm all about, folks: making you believe that ballet is for everyone! Every step, every twirl, every movement has the potential to unleash a new emotion, a new feeling. Whether you're watching from the audience or stepping out on the stage, ballet invites you to be free, to be expressive, to feel the power of movement.
So, if you're looking for a new adventure, why not try a ballet class? You don't need to be a professional or have years of experience under your belt. Just put on your most flamboyant pink tutu and allow the magic to unfold.
I'm off to find some inspiration for my next tutu adventure. Perhaps a horseback ride in Derbyshire followed by a night at the theatre? Stay tuned for the updates, lovelies! Remember, you're never too old to embrace the world in a pink tutu, so dance your heart out!

Until next time, keep twirling!
XOXO,
Emma
