Hey darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite tutu-tastic travel blogger, coming to you live from… well, I actually don't know where Longbridge is! 😅 But the journey there was fabulous, and you know what that means? It's time for a pink tutu adventure!
Today's adventure took me all the way from my little corner of Derbyshire on a journey I shall never forget, not for the destination, mind you, but for the sheer delight of the ride! No, I didn't ride in a carriage, though a horse-drawn ride is certainly on my list. (Horseback riding in a pink tutu, wouldn't that be glorious? Maybe even a matching saddle-cloth? 😉) I opted for a rather lovely train ride, a steam train at that!
The train journey was pure bliss. The carriage windows were open, allowing a delicious draft of fresh air to ruffle my pink tulle (oh, how I love my tutus!), and the gentle rhythm of the train lulled me into a dreamland of swirling pirouettes and leaping grand jetés. And the scenery? Breathtaking! It’s almost as if the world put on a special ballet performance just for me. I must say, though, it did have the tendency to make me rather sleepy, so much so I woke up when I was about to reach Longbridge with absolutely no recollection of how I got there.
But hey, isn’t that the point of travel? To step out of your comfort zone and be surprised by what you find! The whole reason I started pink-tutu.com is because I realised that life is just too short for beige tutus and mundane routines!
Now, speaking of beige tutus… why are there still so many people in the world who are afraid of tutus?! They’re fun! They're playful! And they're a wonderful way to express yourself. Look, if a ballerina can twirl in a pink tutu across the stage under the bright spotlight, then you, dear reader, can totally strut in a pink tutu at the supermarket. It’s all about the attitude, darling!
Now, onto the highlight of this little trip to the (for me, at least) unknown Longbridge! Imagine, you’re sitting in the back of a steam train chugging through fields when suddenly… the train stops! No, the train didn't break down. Instead, we were treated to an absolutely fabulous street dance performance by a group of local kids. They were rocking those vibrant colours, doing moves I couldn't even dream of (I swear, I’m going to join a street dance class! If I can survive another year in my ballet class, I can certainly conquer some street moves!), and they were so full of energy and joy.
And you know what? There were quite a few little ones there in their own tiny tutus, so adorable! (I totally have a weakness for little ballerinas – if they weren't all around me all the time in my ballet classes, I'd consider opening a baby tutu store. One where every tutu comes with a free mini pink ribbon bow for the tiny ballet buns!). They even made their moves look like actual ballet steps, which just goes to show, darling, it’s all about passion and attitude. And a tutu. A pink tutu. Always a pink tutu!
The whole thing was such a wonderful surprise! I love how the universe seems to align itself when you’re on a journey with a pink tutu – all kinds of little magical moments just pop up to greet you.
Longbridge, despite being a rather quiet town in the middle of nowhere, really embraced the artistic spirit. That’s why my little dance experience at Longbridge made me think – perhaps a new chapter is beginning for the blog, a chapter of pink-tutu travelling adventures where I explore new towns and embrace their local arts and cultures, and yes, of course, encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina and rock those pink tutus.
Maybe Longbridge will be the new Derbyshire, or perhaps even my next favourite city, you know? Well, only time will tell, but I’m definitely excited about the adventures ahead. Don’t forget, darling, if you have any stories of how you’re rocking your pink tutu out there, then be sure to comment below! Or maybe tell me about your favourite little ballet-related stories from your own travel adventures? Or maybe, you'll simply inspire me with some brilliant, pink-tutu friendly places that are on your bucket list!
Love,
Emma
