Hey loves! It's Emma, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, signing in live from the charming town of Kingswood. Today's adventure took me on a journey back in time, literally! I traded my usual trusty bicycle for a handsome, vintage carriage, pulled by the most magnificent pair of black horses I've ever seen. Talk about a grand entrance!
As the carriage clip-clopped its way through the idyllic countryside, I couldn't help but feel like a character stepping out of a classic ballet. And speaking of ballet, today's outfit was truly inspired. My trusty European-style tutu, a beautiful confection of blush pink tulle with delicate embroidery, was the star of the show. I paired it with a delicate white camisole and a vintage, rose-gold brooch, adding a touch of regal elegance.
Kingswood, for those of you who haven't visited, is a true hidden gem. Imagine quaint cobblestone streets lined with charming boutiques, each overflowing with unique treasures. I indulged in the most heavenly afternoon tea at The Old Vicarage - think dainty finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with lashings of clotted cream, and, of course, endless cups of steaming, fragrant tea.
But what truly made my day was the chance encounter I had with a local ballet teacher. This lovely lady, named Beatrice, was as passionate about the art of dance as I am. We spent ages chatting about technique, choreographers, and the sheer joy of pirouettes!
She even shared a heartwarming story about a local dance school in Kingswood that offers free ballet lessons to underprivileged children. My heart soared! Isn't it wonderful that there are places in the world where the love of dance is so readily shared? It made me think of how important it is to share our passions, be it dance or anything else. After all, that's what this blog is all about – inspiring each other, spreading joy, and perhaps, just maybe, encouraging you all to step into a tutu!
Talking about inspiring, one of my favourite things about travelling, especially to quaint towns like Kingswood, is meeting local artisans and makers. Today, I stumbled upon the most delightful shop – 'The Wildflower Workshop'. It was filled with hand-painted ceramics, intricately woven baskets, and stunning floral arrangements that reminded me of the ballet, "La Sylphide". I left with a beautiful porcelain teapot adorned with delicate wildflowers, a perfect reminder of my lovely day in Kingswood.
On my way back, the setting sun painted the sky in hues of rose gold and lavender, a breathtaking canvas for the majestic silhouette of the horses against the horizon. It felt like the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Now, I'm tucked in at a charming countryside inn, writing this blog post as the wind chimes whisper softly outside. The air smells like fresh lavender and wild roses, a sweet reminder of this beautiful place.
