Hey Tutu Babes! ?
It’s Emma here, writing to you from the vibrant heart of Birmingham, specifically the wonderful Small Heath area. Today marks my 11026th blog post on www.pink-tutu.com, and I’m so excited to share my latest adventures with you! This little Derbyshire lass is on the move, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
My journey began at dawn, a beautiful sunrise illuminating the rolling hills of my Derbyshire home. Today, I was opting for a little bit of a vintage travel choice: the magnificent Great Western Railway! Who needs a stuffy car when you can have a comfy carriage and some delightful countryside views, eh? ?️
Now, I know some of you think I’m crazy for sticking to trains, but let me tell you: there’s something about the gentle sway of a carriage, the smell of freshly brewed tea in a china cup, and the clinking of the train tracks against each other that truly takes me back to a golden age of travel!
Anyway, I was rocking a bright pink travel ensemble today, a combination of a stylish maxi dress and a pair of fluffy ballet slippers, the perfect outfit to inspire everyone around me with the power of pink and the elegance of ballet. It never fails! ??
Once I arrived in Birmingham, my first stop was a delightful café right by the train station, offering the most delightful pink cupcakes! And if you haven't seen my recent blog on how to recreate the perfect pink frosting, go check it out! It's a classic recipe that I use on everything! ?
Of course, no trip to Birmingham is complete without a visit to the Birmingham Hippodrome. This majestic theatre is the ultimate treasure for ballet lovers like myself! Today, I was lucky enough to catch a spectacular performance by the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and oh my goodness, they blew me away! ?
The sheer talent, the breathtaking choreography, and the passion that each dancer poured into their performance simply captivated me! They made ballet seem so effortless, so ethereal, like watching a group of pink-clad fairies swirling through a dream! ✨
Speaking of fairies, I spotted a rather special friend outside the Hippodrome afterwards - a beautiful white dove! It had the most graceful movements, and its feathery white coat reminded me of the delicate tutus that my fellow ballerinas and I often wear. ?
Just like ballet, wildlife has such a magical power to make the world feel a little brighter. After a little dance with the dove, I took myself to a lovely, little park called Cannon Hill Park for a picnic and a good read. There’s nothing quite like a bit of fresh air to energise the body and mind, especially after an inspiring ballet performance! ?
My trip wouldn't be complete without an afternoon ballet class. So, I made my way to the Birmingham Ballet Centre, where I learned some fun new steps with a friendly group of like-minded ladies! You really don't know what you are missing if you haven't been to ballet class. Trust me! ?
You see, there's something so powerful about ballet that extends far beyond the studio or the theatre. Ballet teaches you about strength, about elegance, about grace. And most importantly, it reminds you to stay true to yourself. Every twirl, every leap, every move is about expressing who you are, and that's why I believe that every single one of you can, and should, find joy in the world of ballet! ?
Remember, ladies, never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't be a ballerina or that you shouldn't wear a pink tutu. Do you, be you, and never stop dreaming of those pink, fluffy clouds in the sky! ☁️?
And as I sign off for today, my fellow Tutu Babes, let me leave you with a little reminder of my favourite pink tutu quote, and one I strive to live by:
“If you can dream it, you can do it! And remember to do it in pink!” ??
Love,
Emma
