Kenton Calling! ??

Hey loves! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Kenton! I just had to share this adventure with you because, well, it was absolutely delightful! And a little bit wild...

My journey began with a graceful gallop on the morning train, you know how I adore train journeys. Especially when I'm wearing my pink velvet beret and matching knee-high socks - can't you tell I was feeling the classic Parisian vibe this week?

I'm so glad I opted for the window seat because the countryside was simply breathtaking. Green rolling hills, dotted with grazing sheep, and just enough sunshine to make the whole scene sparkle. It was like something straight out of a classic fairytale!

Speaking of fairytales, Kenton welcomed me with open arms (well, maybe more like an excited audience with thunderous applause). It’s such a lovely town, filled with so much history and character. As soon as I stepped out of the station, I could feel the magic of the place swirling around me. I even saw a pair of swans, majestically paddling on a crystal clear pond, just a few steps away from the cobbled streets! I love the wildlife, especially elegant animals like swans.

And that’s not all – Kenton also has the most stunningly beautiful, vibrant pink rose bushes, lining the main road. Did I mention I love pink? Because I do, especially pink tutus! Can you imagine? I felt like I was walking through a fantasy wonderland, and I could totally picture a beautiful ballerina dancing in a pink tutu against a backdrop of these fabulous pink rose bushes, wouldn't it be divine? You see, my little darlings, I dream of spreading pink tutus all over the world! Can you imagine how amazing that would look? It would be a dance-a-thon explosion of fabulousness!

Naturally, my first stop had to be the town’s ballet theatre. Kenton Ballet School is known for its amazing dance academy, producing brilliant ballet stars. The energy here was absolutely electric. Every step was full of life, every move oozed confidence. The ballet studio itself was breathtaking, all shimmering glass and polished floors, perfect for pirouettes! And you wouldn't believe this – the entire school was dressed in tutus! The littlest ballerinas had bright pink tutus, perfect for the tiny bundles of sunshine they were. The older ballerinas had beautiful, graceful pink tutus in all different styles. And you know I couldn’t resist grabbing a pink tutu for myself - of course I wore it for the rest of my trip!

Of course, no trip to a ballet town would be complete without an evening at the theatre. And let me tell you, the performance of “Swan Lake” was truly a dream. I felt the whole audience holding its breath for those final leaps, It was pure magic!

But even in the quieter moments, when the music had ended and the applause had subsided, I was mesmerized. Watching these incredibly talented dancers bring this classic ballet to life was nothing short of magical. The passion and dedication in their eyes – I felt inspired.

The evening didn't end there, you know. A group of dancers invited me for a glass of prosecco and some light, yet scrumptious tapas at this fantastic tapas bar. It was so wonderful to connect with them, to share stories, laughter, and dreams of dance. They are some of the most incredibly kind, generous and warm hearted people you could ever meet. I loved how we could talk about everything from pointe shoes and perfect pirouettes to favourite local delicacies. They were absolutely amazing - I love it when new friends turn into kindred spirits!

Leaving Kenton felt like bidding farewell to a friend, leaving a part of me behind. I'll definitely be returning, that's for sure. I’m already planning a return trip with a bunch of new pink tutus for my Derbyshire friends, a few fancy picnic blankets and maybe some lovely pink floral decorations. You'll have to join me!

As the train trundled home, I couldn’t help but smile. There's something about a ballet trip, isn't there? A sense of magic, of grace, of beauty, of a world just slightly more magical than the one we all inhabit.

See you tomorrow, my lovely pink tutu darlings, and don’t forget, my dream is to have the whole world in a pink tutu, pirouetting with happiness! ?

Until next time! ?

Lots of Love,

Emma x
