Hello my darlings!
It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, bringing you blog post number 11041 from the charming town of Letchworth! Today's adventure is a whirlwind of ballet, unexpected fashion finds, and a whole lot of pink, of course!
From Derbyshire to the Home Counties
After a gloriously sunny morning spent exploring the wildlife sanctuary in Derbyshire (I spotted a family of hedgehogs – so adorable!), I decided to treat myself to a journey by train to Letchworth. There's something about watching the countryside whiz by from the window of a train that just makes me feel all tingly inside.
The journey itself was a delightful affair. I couldn't resist sporting my latest vintage-inspired leotard - a shimmering turquoise number with beautiful lace detailing - it certainly turned heads at the station! I paired it with a vibrant pink tutu, my signature colour, naturally!
A Chance Encounter
As I was browsing the local vintage shop in Letchworth, I stumbled across the most beautiful pink tutu. Imagine a cloud of soft, sparkling pink tulle - simply divine! It called to me like a siren's song, and I knew I had to have it. This tutu is definitely going to feature in my next ballet class! I can't wait to twirl in it.
The Letchworth Ballet Academy
And speaking of twirling, I just had to check out the local ballet academy! I mean, you can't be a ballet fanatic and miss a chance to visit a new studio, right? The Letchworth Ballet Academy is a real hidden gem. It's housed in a beautiful Victorian building, with gorgeous wood-panelled rooms and enough mirrors to make even the most confident dancer feel a bit self-conscious.
I popped in for a drop-in class - they're known for their relaxed and friendly atmosphere - and it was an absolute blast! I felt so at home in the class, surrounded by other dance enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Even though I've been dancing for what feels like a lifetime, the thrill of being surrounded by a ballet community never fades.
Dinner and a Ballet Show
After the class, I rewarded myself with a delicious meal at a cosy little restaurant. I indulged in a perfectly cooked pasta dish with a generous portion of parmesan. Delicious!
Then, it was off to the theatre for a wonderful ballet performance by a visiting troupe. Let's just say I was swept away by the elegance and passion on stage. It was a performance I'll be remembering for weeks to come.
Final Thoughts
Letchworth was such a delightful surprise! It's a beautiful town with a fantastic arts and culture scene. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, make sure to explore the gardens, try some of the local shops, and catch a ballet performance. It's an experience that will leave you feeling inspired, and definitely put a little spring in your step!
Until next time, my dears, stay twirling!
Emma xo
