Hey darlings! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-loving, pink-obsessed ballet enthusiast, and I'm writing to you from the charming town of Ashington in Northumberland. It's post number 11072 for those of you keeping count – can you believe it?! Time really does fly when you're having this much fun!
A Day Out By Train
I absolutely love hopping on trains for my adventures. The journey itself is a beautiful experience – the rolling countryside whizzing past, the comfy carriage, and the little tea and biscuits trolley, what's not to love? This time, I travelled up from Derbyshire, and I must say, the countryside was stunning, all rolling hills and crisp autumnal colours.
As the train approached Ashington, I got a bit nervous. You know me, I'm all about that spontaneous, impulsive living. So, I didn't exactly book anything – just a little tutu, a big smile, and my favourite pink crossbody bag packed with enough goodies to last a day. But, thankfully, Ashington welcomed me with open arms – and a charming, little bed and breakfast I found tucked away down a cobbled street. It had the cutest little pink room with floral wallpaper and a fluffy pink rug! Who needs fancy hotels when you have a cosy, dreamy place like that, right?
Discovering Ashington’s Treasures
After I settled in, I grabbed a little map and hit the streets. I had heard tales of Ashington’s vibrant history and the unique character of its town centre, and I wasn’t disappointed! My little pink shoes click-clacked their way along the pavement, past colourful shops, friendly cafes, and a lovely old market square filled with the chatter of locals and the enticing aroma of freshly baked treats.
One of my favourite parts of my Ashington adventures was discovering the Ashington Arts Centre. It was so inspiring – I popped into the pottery class just to have a little peek (you know me, I love learning new things!), and got to meet some talented artists who were so passionate about their work. The centre was overflowing with creative energy – I actually managed to grab a little watercolour set for myself, can't wait to try it out and add some colour to my next blog post.
Tutu-ing through Ashington Park
What would a day in Ashington be without a visit to Ashington Park? It’s a little slice of green paradise, full of colourful flower beds, shady trees, and a quaint little lake. The autumn leaves were already starting to turn and flutter down in the wind, painting the park in hues of orange and yellow – it was absolutely breathtaking!
Now, it’s not every day that you see a little ballerina twirling amongst the park’s manicured lawns, but that’s where my secret weapon came into play: my fabulous pink tutu! I simply couldn’t resist a little twirl under the crisp blue skies. You see, my motto is – wear your tutu with pride and spread joy wherever you go!
Ballet at the Station Theatre
And speaking of spreading joy, the highlight of my day was the wonderful performance at the Ashington Station Theatre! I love supporting smaller venues – you always find such hidden gems and talented individuals. The evening’s show was an enchanting performance of Swan Lake – a classic I’d always dreamt of seeing. The ballerina was truly captivating, and the graceful moves had me feeling like I was actually in the theatre! I felt such a connection with her – we’re fellow tutu-wearers, you know?! It’s almost like we’re sisters from another world, united by the power of dance.
Dancing My Way into Tomorrow
As I write this, I’m feeling refreshed, inspired, and excited about what’s coming next on this wild pink tutu adventure! My next stop – who knows?! But you know me, I'm always on the lookout for exciting places and fascinating experiences to share with all of you. I'm already thinking about the little vintage pink tutu I found at a charity shop yesterday and imagining all the creative ways to wear it, and what wonderful stories I can create with it. I'm a dreamer, a tutu-wearer, a pink enthusiast, and I want to share that love of all things fabulous with you!
