Upminster Calling: Tutu Time in Essex! ??

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, signing in from the quaint and charming town of Upminster in Essex! Today marks post number 11089 on my little corner of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com, and I can't wait to share all the delightful things I've been up to.

Let's rewind a little. I packed my pink suitcase (of course!) and took a train down to London, which was surprisingly smooth – a total win for a ballet-loving soul like myself! I simply adore travelling by train, watching the world whiz past, the gentle rocking, and the satisfying clickety-clack of the tracks... sigh.

I decided on a tutu that I like to call "My Morning Glories." It's a blush pink, layers upon layers of tulle, and has delicate lace trimming at the hem - perfect for strolling through the countryside or catching a show at the theatre! I accessorized with a bright pink fascinator – you know me, I can't resist a touch of colour.

My first stop was Upminster Park. This lovely green haven offered a serene escape from the bustling city. I took a moment to appreciate the majestic oaks, listened to the wind rustling through the leaves, and took a selfie or two – naturally! Upminster has an abundance of parks, all perfect for practicing my pliés and pirouettes, or simply soaking up the peace and quiet.

Feeling energized from my stroll, I headed for a nearby farm. It was a magical encounter. The fluffy sheep were so cute, and the majestic horses... sighs dreamily. It’s been a while since I’ve been on horseback, but I can’t resist the urge to saddle up and canter across a field, feeling the wind in my hair. Maybe that will be for my next post – what do you think?

Dinner was at the charming The Bell, a pub boasting authentic British charm and hearty meals. Of course, I went for the classic fish and chips, followed by a decadent berry crumble – perfect for a ballet dancer’s sweet tooth.

Upminster held many hidden treasures for me. The Victorian architecture was charming, and the local art galleries were buzzing with talent. It really was the perfect escape! But, before heading back to London, I just had to check out the theatre! It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a real live performance and Upminster delivered on the cultural front!

As always, my inner child was absolutely enthralled with the magic of the stage! The performance showcased a local ballet troupe, all young and enthusiastic! They brought so much joy, talent, and energy to the production. You know me, I can’t help but dream of twirling and pirouetting alongside them – perhaps one day!

After a late night in London and a hearty English breakfast (of course!), I’m heading back home, to Derbyshire. There's no place quite like my little village. But before I head back to the Derbyshire hills and rolling meadows, I have a big, pink, tulle-filled question for you all!

What do you think is the best way to experience a new place? Is it by immersing yourself in the local culture? Or by seeking out the unique character of a location? Let me know in the comments, darlings.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts and experiences. Until next time, may your steps be light and your smiles bright!

Love and pink tutus,

Emma ?
